JC5
Ok since vbulletin wont let me edit the code to include meta tags in there so that page can be index'd. i am thinking of since www.devwebsites.com/index.php is the forums should i make www.devwebsites.com/home.html with the meta tags and then redirect it to the forum page? I tried doin that but it refers to when i type in www.devwebsites.com, it goes to the forums instead of home.html. the refresh thing works fine, i typed in www.devwebsites.com/home.html and it worked like it should but is there a way for google bots to look at the meta tags from home.html adn then search content in the www.devwebsites.com/index.php page?I know this is complicated so if you need more explanation plz say so
Natechs
Really, meta tags aren't suppose to be used for redirects. You could just have home.html be the index.html and have it link to the forums...?

Kingy
Following Natechs comment, they're usually for page attributes like<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html"/>I can't imagine many (if any at all) advantages of redirecting via meta over other methods.I found this for you:http://webmaster.indiana.edu/tool_guide_in...h_metatag.shtmlHowever I'll shoot myself in my foot a bit and recommend you don't use it because of this:http://www.w3.org/QA/Tips/reback

JC5
I ended up going to vbulletin forums and figuring out that theres a place in there where I can input my customized meta tags, so no need for the redirect
