I had a file making ajax calls to another php file which checked the database to see if new mail has been received - if so then it echo'd out echo("<embed src='sounds/beep.mp3' loop=\"false\" autostart=\"true\" hidden=\"true\" width=\"0\" height=\"0\"></embed>");some browsers didn't like the way the sound is embedded so I tried making swf with the sound in it.. and tried echoing the swf to play the sound, sounded like a good idea but no sound plays when it's suposed to - but if I open the file that ajax is calling the sound IS playing..just not when ajax is calling the file..any suggestions?
