justsomeguy
What are you trying to do? Let someone search for something and say which page to start on?

Synook
Well, how does the client indicate what page it is on? E.g. through a querystring var, using sessions, etc.
justsomeguy
Look at how Google does it, each link to a page has a page number. The server determines which records to show based on the page number and the number of records to show per page.
