jeffman Posted April 29, 2009 Share Posted April 29, 2009 In theory, colgroup and col are most useful if you want to apply CSS to a column or group of columns. The alternative is to assign table cells to a class individually, which is especially annoying (but not impossible) if you generate cells dynamically or with something like PHP.But in practice, that is exactly what you have to do, because colgroup and col have very poor CSS support.
