smerny
They are about the same in price. Which one would be better for me? (and why?) Taking Stats and Computer Science classes.
justsomeguy
Which one would be better for me?How do you expect anyone to be able to answer that?
smerny
Based on the fact I am taking Stats and Computer Science classes... the one that would be better for me would be better for those classes. What are the differences between these calculators on things that would relate to those type of classes?
Synook
I have used both the TI-83+ (like the 84+, just slower) and the TI-89 Titanium.Definitely get the TI-89. it is much better - it is faster, has a (much much much) more advanced OS (with things like differential tools, equation solving, more powerful BASIC, folders, statistical symbols, 3D graphing, named variables, more inbuilt functions, and advanced applications), has a MUCH more powerful 32-bit 68k processor (the 84+ has an 8-bit Z80), and a higher-resolution screen.Basically, the difference is like the difference between a Z80 Spectrum and a Mac Plus. Get the 89.
Jack McKalling
Ok, that's a fair advert :)I only have the TI-83, it is that long ago that I had to use one of those... Probably never need it again though, I would probably be needing a school for a use.
