skaterdav85
I copied the example code on the Jquery page for the Accordion widget and it works except it does this weird jump at the end of the collapse of a drawer/section. However, if you include this "<!DOCTYPE html>" at the top of the page like on their sample page, it doesn't do that jump. Does anyone know why this would make a difference? justsomeguy
The doctype changes many of the rules a browser uses in rendering the page. That's a vague answer, if you want the fine details there are more exhaustive explanations out there.
Synook
I.e. search for "quirks mode". Note that the DOCTYPE spelled out above is the HTML 5 one.
thescientist
If I'm correct, aren't jQuert libraries and the such tested to be standards compliant, so wouldn't they expect to be running in a similar environment?
