No - JavaScript can't connect to the microphone. It's possible using Flash, though.

Using ActionScript: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/...Microphone.html.I'm sure someone, somewhere has also written an ActiveX control for interacting with audio inputs. ActiveX only works in IE, though.

Flash MX 6 is very very old, and only supports ActionScript 1 (superseded by AS2 in 2003!), of which no documentation survives that I can find. The current version of ActionScript is 3, and the Microphone object as linked to above is part of that API, though I believe AS2 has a similar object.

ActionScript 2, supported since Flash MX 7, has microphone support. ActionScript 1 may also have such support, I just can't find any documentation on it.http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/...t=00001247.html
