Fmdpa
I'm trying to use the imagegrabscreen() function, but I'll it is giving me is solid black. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. Does 64-bit prevent it from functioning properly?
trevelluk
I notice on the comments on that manual page you linked to, there's a note about allowing the web server to interact with the desktop "otherwise you will just get a blank image". Have you seen that, and tried what the poster suggests?
Fmdpa
I didn't read that comment before, so thanks for bringing that to my attention. It seemed like that may have been the answer, but oddly, it still doesn't work. Still blank.
boen_robot
I think what the comment implies is for when PHP is running as an Apache module. If it's running as (F)CGI, then the solution could be something else... but I'm not sure what. Either way... try it as both (F)CGI and an Apache module, and see if one works. End User
Sadly this is only available on Windows platforms (according to the docs). I'd love to have this function available on Linux.

boen_robot
???Apache module/handler... (F)CGI...? "Installing PHP as..."? Ring any bells? The different sections on PHP's installation page? Adjust your httpd.conf settings (and/or PHP release) accordingly.
Fmdpa
PHP is installed as an Apache module/handler. I was confused because I installed the WAMP package, being intimidated at the time by the idea of manual installation.
