MrFish
I don't have any issues with code but I'm wondering what is the best way to link pages. I've always had a separate file for each page like index.php/profile.php/blog.php etc. Each of these pages have the same includes for content that remains constant but is this an old way of thinking? When working on other peoples sites who have purchased a script or hired someone previously to build it I usually see that there is only one file in the root directory (index.php) and that page loads whatever file is being called. So if the url is website.com/profile/then it's like writing website.com/index.php?page=profileand it will just load that page to their content area.Is this a more modern way of doing things? I'm just starting a new website and I think now is a better time than ever to explore new, better, and easier ways to link pages.
justsomeguy
It's not "easier to link" pages, but it makes maintenance easier when you have one file that handles or includes everything else.
MrFish
Ok. Well I think I might try this then. Worst case scenario it's a learning experience
