You can use js to detect the screen size of the machine, the browser the machine is using, but you cant use it to detect if the machine is mac or win or win 98/2000/XP,etc Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

thescientist Posted September 7, 2011 Share Posted September 7, 2011 platform is the platform. as the page says The platform property returns for which platform the browser is compiled. for instance on that page mine say's MacIntel. (I'm using a MacBookPro). the full list of properties for the navigator object is here.http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/obj_navigator.asp appName would return the name of the browser.
