If you advertise well, you'll easily grab the first position on Google.If it's a very generic word that users rarely happen to search for, you should probably find a different word, as users are not likely to search with that very generic word, but would instead use an alternative, just as generic word.Some time ago, I made a site for a manufacturer of... what was it... polymer production line making... something of the sort... the owner targeted a very narrow niche with unpopular words, but that, combined with me making his site very plain semantic and all that Jazz easily got him the first position on Google for... that... The site is now abandoned because the company has merged with another company that has another (more "feature rich") site, but the lesson is clear - if you know what YOUR targeted audience will search for, you should optimize for that.
