birbal Posted January 28, 2012 Share Posted January 28, 2012 If you store it in database images will be synced inetgrated, when you will backup your database images will be too, It will be easier to manage from row relation in database. But it has also some draw backs. When you fetch a image from database you need to access the database for each image generation which will put affet in your performane and databse server overhead. mysqldump will take long time. It is ok with small amount of files but where it is image gallery i would say to store it in filesystem. If you store it file system you have to make sure to chek for orphan files or dead links and also you are going to need different approach for taking bckup of your images.
