Something is wrong with this, can someone, anyone Please Help me? What I want is a simple thumbnail with when someone scrolls over it a big picture of the thumb nail will appear. And when you scroll off the thumbnail, the big picture disappears. Here is what I have:

Im sorry davej but when you scroll over images the popup pictures are blurry. Also the top three images don't line up and don't show my images. Here is what I got:

Yes, I can't see your private images, so I substituted a test image from the web. You will have to cut-and-paste your image paths back into the "src" of the HTML code to replace the test image. Also if your images are very small, low resolution images then it won't work to blow them up. You will have to create or obtain larger, higher resolution images.

 

This is not legal code...

1. Because the "src" path is an invalid string.

2. Because you have defined two different widths and heights inside a single "img" tag.

3. Because there is a space after height=

 

Also "alt" is just an error message that is displayed if the image file cannot be located, so I usually only use the filename itself, or a small error message can be created...

Thank You Davej, The images work on the bottom half of the page. But the top 5 images are not working. but all the popup images are blurry. I'm sorry but, I don't really understand what you mean up above. I am a fresh spring chicken when it comes to all this. I have tried a lot of those automatic generated website builders, but they just don't have the right templates for what I am trying to achieve. Thank You again, for all your help and concern.

Well, I can plug your original images back in, and I will do so below, but the problem with the blurriness of the images is due to the fact that they are small thumbnail images that simply do not have enough resolution to be blown up to a larger size. You will have to take new photographs or otherwise obtain new higher quality images if you want the larger "popup" images to look good.

 

Images are normally resized for use on the web because that makes the file size much smaller which makes the webpage load faster. When I look at your webpage my browser has to load all of those images.

Also "alt" is just an error message that is displayed if the image file cannot be located, so I usually only use the filename itself, or a small error message can be created...

I believe it stands for alternative, as in what to display as an alternative to not being able to see the image. It should be a simple description of what the image is, and is most useful for those with slow connections and with screen readers (but also as a fallback for a 404).
