Then, i see the word 'md5' there So, i click http://wordpress.org/wordpress-0.71-gold.zip.md5 , it gives me md5 codes.. What i don't understand is.. What's the use of MD5 for a file ? Ingolme Posted October 26, 2013 Share Posted October 26, 2013 Well, when the internet was unreliable and downloaded files could be corrupted, what you would do is MD5 the file you downloaded and compare it to the MD5 they're showing you.
