Quick Question

I currently know html, xhtml, css, and javascript. I plan on learning php but I don't know if I should learn xml and xsl first or if it will be usefull for php. Thanks for any help and advice.

Yes but I also noticed that there are some things in the php tutitorial that has xml in it. So would it be more beneficial to know xml and php rather than just php?

You only need to learn XML if you plan on using it. I know PHP pretty well, and I don't spend really any time with XML, to learn it or to use it. At least, I try not to. If a situation comes up where XML is clearly the way to go, then at that time I'll learn what I need to in order to use it.

I went straight from HTML and CSS to PHP and now Javascript. I think it really depends on what you plan on doing. If you are just generally building sites, I think you'll be using PHP more often than XML. It doesn't hurt to be familiar with XML though as it is a very useful tool.
