reportingsjr Posted August 6, 2006 Share Posted August 6, 2006 Well, I have heard so much stuff about linux shells and other types of shells but ive no clude how to use them! Can you guys post some links to tutorials explaining shells to a newb, and also some tuts on how to use them and stuff. The one thing I know how to do on the windows command line is see your ip lol. (type ipconfig lol).Ive also seen someone using one to like change ip address and change things on your computer. I just would like to know how to use shells. I downloaded Ubuntu (Linux for Human Beings...hmmm) Desktop and Server editions. I installed Server edition on my test server and booted up to....command line....what...wait a minute...how is this easier. Fedora Core has a nice GUI.Anyways I am hoping the desktop edition will have an easy GUI and still be sufficient to run a server. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
