tables made using apple macs?

i made a table using dreamweaver on an apple mac, without any cell space but when it was displayed on any browser there was 3 or 4 px gap between the rows and the cells. is this anything to do with the different way macs handle return?

did you define the table like this <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> ?Or do you mean you just did this <table> and the MAC (assuming you used Safari, right?) displayed it with no cell spacing but other browser are?Can you post your code?

i used this code cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> but when i transfered the code to a pc and looked at the code in text edit, after each carriage return there was a square character.im thinking it has something to do thissorry i dont have the code thoughcheers for the help though

sounds like the text editor you used is the problem. Be sure to save it as text only. Rich text can cause problems in your code.

Yeah, the difference in line endings might be the reason. It would be nice if all OS's treated NL and CR the same, but they don't. You can use an editor like ConTEXT (in my sig) to convert between the different line endings.
