AngularJS tutorial vs modern Angular

I'm a newbie to this whole web-dev thing. Can anyone explain how relevant is the AngularJS documentation/tutorial provided by w3shcools, compared to modern Angular?

I am asking this coz I am having a bit of mental trouble grasping the basics of Angular. The w3schools tutorials start from simple basics, these are more straightforward, and 'procedural'. So, I would prefer to stick to w3schools content as much as possible.

PS: The link to tutorial in the top black navigation bar says 'Angular' while entire content is AngularJS based.
