Stewart
is there a simple way to generate a gradient fill in a table cell or a button - i am trying to replace some flash buttons with some plain html buttons, and i am trying to create a vertical gradient on the buttons.can it be done without filling said table with a couple of hundred <div> tags 1px high? Cronthenoob
I was asking the same question a few days ago. And yes there is a way with CSS and javascript. But its 100 times easier and more compatible to just make an image and repeat it

joecoolaug
Well, all you really have to do is make one big image to make it look like it's a gradient fill and use CSS to position the HTML button in the correct place.I hope I didn't misunderstand the question . Moridin
You can easily make a very basic graident using Microsoft Word and Paint. If you have about 600 USD you can buy Photoshop. If you want a free image editor, I would like to suggest Paint.NETDownloadGradient TutorialIf you do not want to make it for yourself, please post specifications on colors, size etc. and I will make one for you.- Moridin
Stewart
OR you can use this neat (IE only c/o microsoft) filter: filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Gradient(gradientType=0,startColorStr=white,endColorStr=Gainsboro); demohttp://web.tampabay.rr.com/bmerkey/example...e-gradient.htmlwhich in my case is fine as the network admins refuse to let us use firefox (it's for an intranet)
