IntoTheBreach
Hi,Very new to javascript.I have a javascript flyout menu that works brilliantly off my hard drive in both IE and FF. Clicking on submenu items swaps whatever is in a separate div with the menu item. When I upload it to my site, the script doesn't work. The submenu displays in full---not as a flyout from the main menu. The initial display layer that should appear (where menu items will pop up onclick) doesn't show either. Here's the page: www.markdelfranco.com/glossarytext.htmlWhere do I begin to look for problem? Is it likely the javascript or the css? You can access the sourcecode on the site.I doublechecked both my IE and FF browers to make sure they are javascript enabled, and they are.thanks in advance....Mark
Jack McKalling
Do you mean the letters S-Z? What's wrong with it, it works ?
IntoTheBreach
Can you confirm that when you first go to the page, the Title Page is loaded (Chambers Convergent Ethnology), and you're getting the flyouts? If so, that's great if everyone else is seeing it correctly. I've tested on a friend's laptop and get the same problem on his that I get on mine. Maybe we both have some kind of javascript blocker I haven't found yet (He's got a new Dell and I've got his old one).
Jack McKalling
I don't know what's wrong then, it works fine with me. What browser do you use? Maybe this script is browser dependant?Anyway, the javascript that is in the file, it is quite big for only a few flyouts
IntoTheBreach
Hi Dan,I've tried turning off my Norton too, but that wasn't it. I'm using both IE and FF. If you're getting it correctly, maybe I just have to see it on another computer to confirm something's up with my laptop. If you can recommend a simpler slidout menu, please do! Eventually this menu will have many more definitions. This script is currently way over my head, so finding a problem with it will be self-defeating.Anyone else willing to check out the site to confirm it's working for them will be much appreciated!Mark
Jack McKalling
Sidenote, with browser, I also meant version But never mind.I can recommend other menu's, but there are so many. I'll give you a site thats full of those, you can choose which one you want, they are all browser friendly http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/index.htmlAnd this page contains not even all of their menus.
