  1. Hi, I am a beginner web designer and developer. Now I am learning javascript. But while learning I didn't understand the bitwise operators and how they works. In the below image how X converts to decimal? Please help as many experienced and professional web developers are present here. Thank you.
  2. Hi there. I have been wandering around the tutorials and examples and trying to get a simple variable calculation done in the html code below but can't seem to get it right. The html code below works fine now to create a button for PayPal and submit an order. The problem is, I need the "amount_2" to actually be calculated to 2% of "amount_1". a simple, "amount_2" = "amount_1" * 0.02 This is to allow us to take payment with PayPal and add their merchant fees. Can anyone help please :-) ------------------------------------------ <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_cart"> <input type="hidden" name="upload" value="1"> <input type="hidden" name="business" value="accounts@freelanceswitch.com"> <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="AUD"> <input type="hidden" name="item_name_1" value="My Invoice"> <input type="hidden" name="amount_1" value="1885.00"> <input type="hidden" name="item_name_2" value="Merchant Fee"> <input type="hidden" name="amount_2" value="9999"> <input type="image" src="http://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/x-click-but01.gif" name="submit" alt="Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!"> </form> ------------------------------------------
  3. Hi Guys, I have a slight problem with some of my code. I have a series of tables running down a page with each table containing different data. All looks fine when I look at it as a HTML page but when I use it as an Email 2/3 elements move for some reason, is there a way I can make sure these elements won't move? The code is in the backend of a program I use and gets called as Emails are generated for different subjects. Thanks in advance, Craig.
  4. I was wondering if there is a way to detect when a certain image is in a certain area on a page. I'm making a little game where you move a character around (which is an image), and when any part of the character is over a certain 100x200px area, it activates a function. Is this possible with JavaScript? If not, can I do it with another language that works with JavaScript and html? I'd prefer JavaScript. Thanks!
  5. What is the use of 'window' object? I really didn't understood anything about the window object.
  6. Hello and I desperately need some help with CSS as I am really lost and have read that CSS tutorial I don't know how many times, but something just isn't clicking. I've got the HTML down and have written a web site in HTML in Microsoft notepad, but I need a style sheet to make things look better before I upload the site to a web host. What I need is someone that really knows the CSS code and can explain things in text and not graphics as I am blind and using a screen reader and it doesn't read graphics. I think I have the basic idea of what it is supposed to do and I have the code written down for all the parts like the coloring, the font things, the background and link/visited links and headers and such. What I need to know is how to put it all together, what do I write where in the "head" and the body" and in what order. Is there a way to tie all the pages together with basically the same style sheet or do I need to write the code on each page? I really need some help here and this seemed like the best place to ask, so I hope someone can. Also, what about the W3CSS, does that work better as I see some templates there to use, but I'm not exactly sure what it all means, again I have read and reread the tutorials on this. If I use one of the templates available, do I put that code inside my document or link to it as an outside source or exactly what? This reminds me of algebra when I had to do that in school as I needed help with that stuff. I really wish I had grown up with computers as it's much easier to learn this stuff when younger than older, but the HTML isn't hard and I thought CSS wouldn't be either. Help, please.
  7. Hey guys/gals, I am a bit of a coding dinosaur, and recently got back into html coding, and have slowly been developing my comedy groups website. I've been slowly working with "css", and the list functionality On my event page, I want to display rows of 3 events each, that will have a rounded rectangle background, and the information about each event (with a picture) enclosed within the rectangle. You can find what I am working on at www.standupseoul.com/test1.html My problem is that I need to: 1. Align the 3 events to the middle of the page, not to the right. 2. I want there to be some separation between each <li> . As you can see, they bleed into each other. You should be able to view the source on my page. Any help, suggestions, or tips would be greatly appreciated. If you see some of my coding looks messy or I've put something in a bad spot, feel free to give me your opinion. In the end, I want it to look like I have on this page, but without using Tockify. http://www.standupseoul.com/pages/events.html I used to make pages back in the 90s and early 2000s with just HTML and a little java script, Im kind of getting back into all of this slowly. Thanks a lot!
  8. Hello, I am new to this site so bear with me please if I ask for help that may have already been addressed in other topics. I apologize. Ok I am new to this HTML thing and I am sure there are far better ways to code what I want done. I just have no idea how to do what I am about to ask. I am sorry I cannot offer any more information on my problem, if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. I know how to make a sidebar on the page. And I know how to make those options in the sidebar links. What I am confused on is how to make the link open up in the area next to the side bar. Just to make sure I am clear on my intentions with this question. I know how to make links open up in the same window as the link is clicked. Rather I want the links to open up within the same window and to the right of where the sidebar is. Perhaps its not links I should be using? If not please point me in the right direction. I appreciate it. Once again thank you.
  9. Hey so I have this code, and I start out with my homepage on the screen. If I hover over some images they glow and the source shows up beneath them. Later, if I click the homepage button on my sidebar, it shows the homepage again. This time when I hover over the images they glow, but don't show the image source. Is there something wrong with this code? Please help <script>$(document).ready(function(){ $('.homepage').click(function(){ $('.body').empty(); $('.body').append("<div class = 'homepageappend'>You have the ability to hack into the school computer system. 10. So, I do not have a specific code, but I just want to understand collision. I guess an example that I am thinking of is agar.io. I have read many examples about collision, or how in agar.io the cells eat eachother, and it just doesn't make sense. Could anybody please explain it to me, and use it in an extremely simple code. I am very much a beginner. I have learned about html, javascript, and jquery using codecademy, but I am not experienced!! Could someone please give me a simple explanation of how to make 'cells eat eachother' using a simple code. Again, I am a beginner! Thanks for any help.
  11. First of all, sorry if this is an inappropriate place to post this thread but I don't really know a better place to post it. This isn't any full time job, more of a partnership. I'm sure for a skilled programmer this would be rather easy.. But I am not one, which is why I'm looking for help.I want someone who can program games, such as a coin flipping game, slot machine game and games like blackjack (although, I have a coin flipping and slot machine game coded, just not by me) and integrate them with the Steam/CS:GO API, allowing users to log in, send CS:GO skins/knives (which can be very valuable) to a bot and then play these games for the chance of winning a lot more skins/knives.If you aren't fully accustomed to the Steam/CS:GO API then there are official Steam API guides. I have a couple more things I would like added which I will discuss if you contact me.Email: csgoroulettebusiness@gmail.comPay: All profits 50/50, a payment at the end could be arranged but I am spending a lot of money on other things important for the website (advertising although it's rather low-key, domains since I'm thinking about switching to a different one, creating a stockpile of skins/knives so that I can actually have the games functioning and not have people spending skins on games with no chance of winning anything and there's more I need to pay for but I hope you understand I'm not just BSing or something). Some of the more popular websites out there already make a lot of money from doing this, so if we improve upon what they've done, add more features, games etc and add a better monetary system, then the pay should be quite a lot, that is if all games/elements are implemented.Why bother helping?: First of all, the domain is already paid for, but like I said, I might buy a new off someone who's selling it. Quite a lot of the website is finished but there's still quite a bit more to do. You get to sleep soundly tonight knowing that you've helped a fellow programmer create something he loves. And, well, all you have to do is do some programming and sit back and watch the money roll in. Might sound too good to be true and although there's quite a bit of programming involved, it really is as simple as that. The websites out there are either basic, scams or just very poor and I hope to change that. I have plenty of new and fresh ideas which would entice a lot of CS:GO gamers and possibly even streamers to my website. I also have a different way for the site to earn money which greatly benefits both the creators and the users.Thanks for reading,Joe
  12. I've been making tons of progress on my vehicle fit guide. I've made a drop down box dynamically populate based on previous selections, and now I need those selections to search the xml file and return my results. My old code only searched by the vehicle year, and that returned all vehicles with the same year. I'm trying to parse my XML using multiple variables, and now can't get any results to return. how am I able to search for models, then search for years within the model? here are my code snippets below, which currently only search the whole XML file for similar years: <!DOCTYPE html><html><head><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="xmlcss.css"><script data-require="jquery@*" data-semver="2.1.4" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-2.1.4.min.js"></script><script type="text/javascript">jQuery(document).ready(function($){ var $xml; var make = $('#make'); var model = $('#model'); var year = $('#year'); var front1 = $('#Front_Location_1'); var frontsize1 = $('#Front_Size_1'); $.get('fitguide3.xml', function(data){ $xml = $(data); var rows = $(data).find('ROWSET ROW'); var makes = []; $.each(rows, function(index, element){ var _make = $(element).find('MAKE').text(); makes.push('<option value="' + _make + '">' + _make + '</option>'); }); makes = $.unique(makes); make.append(makes.join('n')); }, 'xml'); $('#make').on('change', function(){ var _value1 = $(this).val(); var _models = $xml.find('ROWSET ROW:contains("'+_value1+'")'); var models = []; console.log(_models); $.each(_models, function(index, element){ var _model = $(element).find('Model').text(); models.push('<option value="' + _model + '">' + _model + '</option>'); }); models = $.unique(models); model.find('option').remove(); model.append(models.join('n')); }); $('#model').on('change', function(){ var _value2 = $(this).val(); var _years = $xml.find('ROWSET ROW:contains("'+_value2+'")'); var years = []; console.log(_years); $.each(_years, function(index, element){ var _year = $(element).find('YEAR').text(); years.push('<option value="' + _year + '">' + _year + '</option>'); }); years = $.unique(years); year.find('option').remove(); year.append(years.join('n')); }); // $('#make').val() // $('#model').val() // $('#year').val() $('#year').on('click', function(){ var _value3 = $(this).val(); var finalmodel = $('#model').val(); var _front1 = $xml.find('ROWSET ROW:contains("'+_value3+'")'); console.log(_front1); <!-- $("#Front_Location_1").html(""); --> $.each(_front1, function(index, element){ var _front = $('#frontspeakers').val(); var front = []; front.push('<p>' + element + '</p>'); front = $.unique(front); front1.append(element); }); })});</script></head><body><p id="test"></p><select id="make"><option value='0'>---Select Make---</option></select><select id="model" name="model"></select><select id="year"></select><table style="width:100%"><tr><td>Front Location 1</td></tr><tr><td id="frontspeakers"></td></tr><tr><td id="Front_Location_1"></td></tr></table> And this is how my XML file is set up: <?xml version="1.0"?><ROWSET><ROW><MAKE>ACURA</MAKE><Model>CL</Model><YEAR>2001-2003</YEAR><Front_Location_1>Door</Front_Location_1><Front_Size_1>6 1/2</Front_Size_1><Front_Location_2>Sail Panel</Front_Location_2><Front_Size_2>1 </Front_Size_2><Rear_Location_1>Deck</Rear_Location_1><Rear_Size_1>6 x 9</Rear_Size_1><Rear_Location_2></Rear_Location_2><Rear_Size_2></Rear_Size_2><Other_Speakers></Other_Speakers></ROW><ROW><MAKE>ACURA</MAKE><Model>CL</Model><YEAR>1999-1999</YEAR><Front_Location_1>Door</Front_Location_1><Front_Size_1>6 1/2</Front_Size_1><Front_Location_2>Sail Panel</Front_Location_2><Front_Size_2>1 </Front_Size_2><Rear_Location_1>Deck</Rear_Location_1><Rear_Size_1>6 x 9</Rear_Size_1><Rear_Location_2></Rear_Location_2><Rear_Size_2></Rear_Size_2><Other_Speakers></Other_Speakers></ROW> This searches for them, but returns every model with the same years. 13. Let me just say sorry for the very poor title. It isn't bait or anything, please read on. And please leave out any 'you sound unqualified' comments, I come here merely asking for your most gracious helpHello there. I'm currently in the process of creating my own CS:GO betting/gambling website but I am currently really stuck and I need your help!I am very new to Javascript and have tried to learn it through videos, websites, tutorials etc etc but I honestly don't really know what I need to know or how to properly implement it. SummaryThere's a gaming distribution site called Steam. On Steam is a competitive, FPS game called Counter Strike: Global Offensive. On there you can win/buy/unlock/trade skins and knives, which can be incredibly valuable. There are quite a few sites out there already such as: https://csgojackpot.com/ andhttps://skinarena.com/ however, in my opinion, they are rather poor and basic and I have many ideas on how to improve on their work (many CS:GO websites copy heavily off of each other, is this how so many people have managed to make their own websites?)When on one of these websites, you log in using your Steam account name and password. Once logged in, you need to post your trade link. This trade link is used for when you want to deposit any skins to the pot and for if you win. When you click deposit, a bot sends you a trade link. You add the skins/knives and send them to the bot. Your deposit is then added to the pot with many others. Once a certain number of people have deposited, a winner is chosen (the more valuable your skins/knives are, the higher chance of winning) and hash is made. The winner is sent a trade request and is given the skins/knives they have won.So my question is, where can I learn how to do this?! What do I need to learn? I am not asking for somebody to come along and say "Oh, you need this which I have just made for you, and this which my friend made and then bam, it'll work", I am asking somebody to kindly make a list of what I need to learn exactly and not just "Yeah, erm, you should learn Javascript moron" because I have tried to learn Javascript already but I still have no clue how to go about this.. Like, how do I create a CS:GO Steam bot? (This isn't much to do with JS, but more Virtual Studio I think). How would I get that bot to communicate with the website? How can I tell the bot that "here is the trade link, send a trade offer to this link!"? How do I create a hash along with the winner? Do I have to use a crawler to gain the prices of the skins/knives?I have many questions such as how to the website/server fetch the user's profile name (different to their account name) and avatar/picture.Sorry for the very long amount of text. I am not asking for a definitive answer as such, just for somebody who is experienced to just calm me down and tell me what I need to know since I don't know exactly what I need to know.. And again, please so no "you sound too bad to be creating websites like this" which is true, I suppose , but I feel that my website would really change things and gain a lot of popularity. Side note: Would buying a £25 book definitely go through this kind of stuff? Or is JS quite large and it's rather unlikely? Please, excuse my extreme ignorance and stupidity :'(
  14. Hello, I was unable to find a solution for this problem. I'm hoping someone knows the answer. I have a mobile website and a phone number you can click to call. I even made it a hyperlink tel:###-###-####. This works correctly. I have a hidden form with a comment field only that basically says "Someone from your website placed a call to you." What I want to do is when the user clicks to call the number on the website call my number and send a quick Email letting me know by submitting the form I just mentioned along with the time and date. I have a php file working that sends the email to me when I hit the submit button. I have the hyperlink opening the box to allow the call to be placed. What I can't seem to figure out is how to get both things done on that one click of the phone number. ANY HELP would be appreciated. I understand that php is server side and the click to call is client side. But I'm still lost.

  16. Hello, I have recently been attempting to make HTML forms in my website filtered by PHP strings... I have a PHP Filter that should work, However I am not sure on how to Integrate it into my HTML forms. Here is what I have right now... HTML Form <h3>Add Site Manual</h3><div class="addurlSmall">Enter the Site Title, Url and Description you want to add, it will automatically add it in the database</div><br /><?php require 'BannedWords.php';?><form action="/index.php?a=admin" method="post"><div class=""> Site Title: <input type="text" name="addtitle" value="" required /><br /> Site URL: <input type="url" name="addurl" value="http://" required /><br /> Site Description: <br /><textarea lass="ads" name="adddesc" required></textarea></div><br /><input type="submit" value="Add new result"/></form> PHP Filter. <?php$ban_array = array( 'Bad', 'Words', 'Here');$input_array = array ( 'adddesc', 'addurl', 'addtitle');$isvalid = true;foreach ( $ban_array as $v ) { foreach ( $input_array as $vv ) { if ( strpos($form->data[$vv], $v) !== false ) { $form->validation_errors[$vv] = 'Banned words in use!!'; return false; } }}?> Any help would be appreciated Thanks.
  17. Hello, I have recently been working on a HTML form to submit new results into a search engine. However I have ran into a problem that I cant seem to get past. I have one page where the info from the form can be properly submitted, however it requires a password to get into. (its the admin panel) located at index.php?a=admin However when a user tries to insert a new site to the form the just are denied access because they cant log into the admin panel, even though the form itself is not actually in the admin panel... The HTML form looks like this and is located in a page called /AddSite.html however its trying to submit the info to /index.php?a=admin how can I use JavaScript to possibly bypass needing the password? and not redirecting to the admin panel when you click submit? (Also, not as important as the above issue... but as you can see I tried to add a capatcha, but I cant get it to be required, users can press submit without even using the capatcha... if anyone could tell me what I did wrong that would be helpful ) my current code: <form action="/index.php?a=admin" method="post"><div class=""> Site Title: <input type="text" name="addtitle" value="" required/><br /> Site URL: <input type="url" name="addurl" value="http://" required/><br /> Site Description: <br /><textarea lass="ads" name="adddesc" required></textarea><div align="center" class="g-recaptcha" data-sitekey="6LfDoAYTAAAAAOUmPcjfwv3I84xYqFBV5tyQMPJu"></div></div><br /><input type="submit" value="Add new result"/></form> Any help works!!!
  18. Hello,I have recently created a new "feature" to a web browser that I am working on where users can add their own website. To do this they just type the title, URL, and description into the form and press submit. However I am worried about people submitting bad websites that I don't want to see on this browser. With that being said, is there a simple way to BlackList certain words from being typed into the form? So that you can not press submit or something.Thanks.

  20. Hello, I have been developing a website for a school project in html, css and javascript. We'll be using the website for an interactive board game. One of the most important elements of the website are the scoreboard and the game questions. The game questions basically give a specific amount of points if correctly answered. The points will then be sent to the scoreboard, and saves it. The scoreboard makes use of cookies to save the data/reset the data. And here comes my problem.. the scoreboard works great in Internet Explorer and Firefox, but not in Google Chrome. I have followed a tutorial on how to use cookies on w3schools (http://www.w3schools.com/js/js_cookies.asp) to help create the scoreboard. The cookies apparently do not work for me when I use Google Chrome, which is very unfortunate. I would really like the website and cookies to be cross-browser compatible, and therefore I need some help. If anyone could help me out, then that would be great! These are my scripts: index.html <!doctype html><html lang=nl><head> <meta charset=utf-8> <script src="cookie.js"></script> </head><!-- dit is jouw hoofdpagina. zie ook commentaar op pag2.html Script toevoegen op al je pagina's bij je hoofdpagina bij de body onload=checkScore() toevoegen--><body onload=checkScore()> <a href=pag2.html>Klik hier voor 10 punten</a><br> <a href=pag3.html>Klik hier voor 5 punten</a> <!-- deze div moet toegevoegd worden op de plek waar je de score wilt zien --> <div id=score> </div> <!-- button om de scores op nul te zetten --> <button onclick="reset()">Reset</button></body></html> pag2.html <!doctype html><html lang=nl><head> <meta charset=utf-8> <script src="cookie.js"></script> <script> var erbij=10; function terug() { createCookie("erbij", erbij); window.location.assign("index.html"); } </script></head><body> <button onclick="terug()">Terug</button> <button onclick="erbij=erbij+1">punten</button></body></html> pag3.html <!doctype html><html lang=nl><head> <meta charset=utf-8> <script src="cookie.js"></script> <script> var erbij=5; function terug() { createCookie("erbij", erbij); //window.history.back(); window.location.assign("index.html"); } </script></head><body> <button onclick="terug()">Terug</button></body></html> cookies.js function checkScore() { var s=getCookie("score"); if (s != "") { erbij=getCookie("erbij"); if (erbij == "") { erbij="0"; } score= (parseInt(s)+parseInt(erbij)).toString(); createCookie("score", score); } else { score="0"; createCookie("score", score); erbij="0"; createCookie("erbij", erbij); } document.getElementById("score").innerHTML="Score: "+score; } function createCookie(name, value, days) { var expires; if (days) { var date = new Date(); date.setTime(date.getTime() + (days * 24 * 60 * 60 * 1000)); expires = "; expires=" + date.toGMTString(); } else { expires = ""; } var t=name + "=" + value + expires + "; path=/"; document.cookie = name + "=" + value + expires + "; path=/"; } function getCookie(cname) { var name = cname + "="; var ca = document.cookie.split(';'); for(var i=0; i<ca.length; i++) { var c = ca[i]; while (c.charAt(0)==' ') c = c.substring(1); if (c.indexOf(name) == 0) { return c.substring(name.length, c.length); } } return ""; } function eraseCookie(name) { createCookie(name,"",-1); } function reset() { document.getElementById("score").innerHTML="Score: 0"; eraseCookie("score"); eraseCookie("erbij"); } All I need is the cookies to work in Google Chrome. Thanks in advance, Es_Dexter

  22. Hi guys,My website is www.ambitionrecords.tictail.comI'm having trouble with my current site, turns out you can use code to edit it entirely, however all I want to do is swap a hyperlink so that when you click on "Store" it doesn't go to the page that displays all products, instead it goes to "Just In". This is because on the default page which displays all products it only displays up to 100 products. So any products after this limit aren't visible on this page, but are visible on the sub-category of "Vinyl" so in essence when people click the store button I want it to go directly to the sub-category "Vinyl", any idea how to do this? If you could give me any help with this that would be great as the fact that I can't currently display all products whilst I'm setting up my new store means I'm losing sales,Thanks for any help you can give me,Angus

  24. Hello everyone, I am kind of new to HTML and I am using this website to make it and I think I am doing well. I have had some help with CSS because I find that really hard. Anyway on to my original point... I am using XenForo as my forums and I am attempting to make a form on one of the pages. I have got the form sorted I just need a place to submit it to. I was hoping to make a thread on a certain category. So if someone fills in the form it will be: That will be on a thread. ^ I want to know how to do this using html. If anyone can help please do so! Thanks for your help. *I know XenForo has addons for this type of thing but I won't pay $30 for something I can do with a bit of help.
