  1. I am developing a single page website that scrolls to each section when selected, live example: http://sandbox.digitango.com/ The issue I am having is with the sticky header, when you click the first link "Why AMAC" it will send you to the first section BUT when the header changes to fixed position it covers the content. I searched google reading a ton of articles but nothing seemed to address this issue, maybe I am missing the correct term for what my issue is. Is there any solution you know of that can fill the gap for when the header changes to fixed? - Image one - what the problem looks like - Image two - how I would like it to look
  2. Hi, here is a code. I want to make the .characteristics-quote to stay fixed when scrolling to the .characteristics-wrapper. But When the characteristics-wrapper class scrolling is finished the .characteristics-quote should be vanished. Can you please tell me how I can fix this ? Thank you in advance. <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang= "en-us"> <head> <meta charset= "utf-8"/> <title>About</title> <link rel= "stylesheet" type= "text/css" href= "font-awesome-4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css"/> <style type= "text/css"> body { margin: 0; padding: 0; color: white; background-color: black; overflow: auto; } .about { max-width: 100%; height: 200px; background-color: black; color: white; text-align: center; padding-left: 10%; padding-right: 10%; padding-top: 5px; margin: 0; } .characteristics-wrapper { max-width: 100%; padding: 10px; margin-bottom: 200px; border: 1px solid white; overflow: hidden; } .characteristics-quote { max-width: 40%; float: left; transform: translateX(-5%); position: fixed; color: white; } .characteristics-quote h1 { max-width: 70%; text-align: center; margin: auto; padding-top: 100px; } .characteristics-container { max-width: 60%; float: right; text-align: center; position: relative; } .characteristics-item-row1, .characteristics-item-row2 { max-width: 50%; } .characteristics-item-row1 { padding-top: 50px; } .characteristics-item-row2 { position: absolute; top:50px; right: 0; } .characteristics-item { max-width: 80%; display: block; margin: auto; margin-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; } .characteristics-icon { font-size: 60px; padding: 15px; border: 1px solid lightgrey; border-radius: 50%; height: 76px; width: 76px; margin: auto; } .characteristics-item:hover .characteristics-icon{ background-color: white; color: black; -webkit-transition: 0.6s ease-in-out; -moz-transition: 0.6s ease-in-out; -ms-transition: 0.6s ease-in-out; -o-transition: 0.6s ease-in-out; transition: 0.6s ease-in-out; } /**Animations**/ .left { -webkit-animation-name: left; -webkit-animation-duration: 1s; -moz-animation-name: left; -moz-animation-duration: 1s; -ms-animation-name: left; -ms-animation-duration: 1s; -o-animation-name: left; -o-animation-duration: 1s; animation-name: left; animation-duration: 1s; } .right { -webkit-animation-name: right; -webkit-animation-duration: 3s; -moz-animation-name: right; -moz-animation-duration: 3s; -ms-animation-name: rightt; -ms-animation-duration: 3s; -o-animation-name: right; -o-animation-duration: 3s; animation-name: right; animation-duration: 3s; } .scale { -webkit-animation-name: scale; -webkit-animation-duration: 2s; -moz-animation-name: fade; -moz-animation-duration: 2s; -ms-animation-name: scale; -ms-animation-duration: 2s; -o-animation-name: scale; -o-animation-duration: 2s; animation-name: scale; animation-duration: 2s; } .fade { -webkit-animation-name: fade; -webkit-animation-duration: 2s; -moz-animation-name: fade; -moz-animation-duration: 2s; -ms-animation-name: fade; -ms-animation-duration: 2s; -o-animation-name: fade; -o-animation-duration: 2s; animation-name: fade; animation-duration: 2s; } /**Animating from the left**/ @-webkit-keyframes left { from {left: -500px;} to {left: 0;} } @-moz-keyframes left { from {left: -500px;} to {left: 0;} } @-ms-keyframes left { from {left: -500px;} to {left: 0;} } @-o-keyframes left { from {left: -500px;} to {left: 0;} } @keyframes left { from {left: -500px;} to {left: 0;} } /**Animating from the right**/ @-webkit-keyframes right { from {right: -500px;} to {right: 0;} } @-moz-keyframes right { from {right: -500px;} to {right: 0;} } @-ms-keyframes right { from {right: -500px;} to {right: 0;} } @-o-keyframes right { from {right: -500px;} to {right: 0;} } @keyframes right { from {right: -500px;} to {right: 0;} } /**Animating scale**/ @-webkit-keyframes scale { from {transform: scale(3);} to {transform: scale(1);} }@-moz-keyframes scale { from {transform: scale(3);} to {transform: scale(1);} }@-ms-keyframes scale { from {transform: scale(3);} to {transform: scale(1);} }@-o-keyframes scale { from {transform: scale(3);} to {transform: scale(1);} } @keyframes scale { from {transform: scale(3);} to {transform: scale(1);} } /**Fading animation**/ @-webkit-keyframes fade { from {opacity: 0;} to {opacity: 1;} } @-moz-keyframes fade { from {opacity: 0;} to {opacity: 1;} } @-ms-keyframes fade { from {opacity: 0;} to {opacity: 1;} } @-o-keyframes fade { from {opacity: 0;} to {opacity: 1;} } @keyframes fade { from {opacity: 0;} to {opacity: 1;} } </style> </head> <body> <div class= "about"> <h1>Who we are?</h1> <div class= "about-content">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. 3. I know there are a lot of topics out there about the CSS position: fixed not working, but those solutions do not work for me. Here is the CSS code: #slideshow{ height: 200px; width: 1308px; background-color: #dbdbdb; top: 800px; left: -100px; border-style: solid; border-color: #b0adb0; border-width: 03px; position: fixed; } In the screenshot (slideshowDIVhidden), the div is supposed to show up between the very top box and the two bottom boxes, while still being still relative to the viewport. When it is hidden, this is because the position: fixed; code is on. The slideshowDIVshown is what it is meant to look like (doesn't use position: fixed;) but is not relative to the viewport, and for some reason, I cannot move it. The slideshow DIV is not a "child" DIV. Any ideas how to fix the position: fixed, and why the div won't move?
  4. hey guys, how can I create a header bar background so that it is in back of my nav links? my links are fixed so they stay when the user scrolls down to view images and text. Im pretty sure though that when a user looks at the website through a mobile device the fixed links will come closer together so when the user scrolls down they will see the white bordered space around the logo. Also when I try to move my "text-container" the first fixed link moves (floats on top of the text container )wherever I move it. How can I seperate them? or make them non relative? Thanks for your help! here is the jsfiddle link: http://jsfiddle.net/sneakyleaf96/bqgjw0gb/8/
  5. I have a marquee on my website (http://blogandthecity.net). I want it to be stuck at the screen. I think it is called "fixed". You know what I mean? Right now the marquee stops at a certain point, but I want it to be the size of the whole screen/website. So I think there are two options: 1. make the marquee as long as possible (However some webpages are longer than others. And I don't know how I can make the marquee longer. I already tried some things) 2. make the position fixed. (I tried to put "position: fixed" in the code, but the result is that the marquee doesn't scroll anymore. So the movement stops. And the marquee doesn't fit the screen either..) Do you know how I can solve this problem? If you need the css style, I will put it here too. Ectually, I am afraid it is not possible. If not, does somebody know how I can let it "fade" away in the screen/white at the end of the marquee?
  6. Hi all, I am a new website designer, and I have designed a website for my YT channel, with the help of DreamWeaver's inbuilt templates and CSS. I have been having problem recently, as one of the sidebars is not rendering inside the .container div, rather it is rendering outside it, yet it is still fixed. The contained element is a twitter bar, and I was wondering if anyone knew what could be causing it. You can see the problem here http://www.battlefie...ys.freeglo.net/The sidebar on the left should be right next to the black matte background like the sidebar on the right. Apologies if you try to read the code, I haven't taken out DW's notes yet as I still use them. This is the .container code .container {width: 1068px;max-width: 1260px;min-width: 780px;margin-top: 0;margin-right: auto;margin-bottom: 0;margin-left: auto; There is the sidebar's code that I am having problems with .sidebar2 {float: right;width: 171px;padding-top: 10px;padding-right: 0;padding-bottom: 10px;padding-left: 0;position:fixed; And here is what is in the sidebar - just a twitter feed and a facebook like button <div class="sidebar2"><script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;} js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#appId=267242146629402&xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script><div class="fb-like" data-href="http://www.battlefieldboys.freeglo.net/" data-send="true" data-layout="button_count" data-width="90" data-show-faces="false" data-font="arial"></div> <script src="http://widgets.twimg.com/j/2/widget.js"></script><script>new TWTR.Widget({ version: 2, type: 'profile', rpp: 4, interval: 30000, width: 170, height: 300, theme: { shell: { background: '#000000', color: '#e6bc12' }, tweets: { background: '#000000', color: '#ffffff', links: '#e6bc12' } }, features: { scrollbar: true, loop: false, live: true, hashtags: true, timestamp: true, avatars: false, behavior: 'all' }}).render().setUser('BattlefieldBoys').start();</script></div> Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.- deviouswatch
