  1. It made perfect sence to me, just go at a slower pace. You cant expect to get it the first time around.
  2. no you need to apply a id like #navigation to the links and then changea:link to #navigation a:linka:visited to #navigation a:visitedso on and so onthe html will look like this<a href="#" target="_blank" style="height:100px;width:130px" id="navigation"></a>
  3. i mainly work in code view and then hit f12 to preview but my main concern is when handing it over to the client, they most likely wont want to work in code view.
  4. I've noticed when designing webpages with css styled divs that DW renders them funky. Things like text in the content div underlapping the text in the right or left divs. The page displays fine on the browser of choice but DW looks like crapola, is there a way to solve this. My main concern is when the client goes to update the site he/she will be confused by the overlapping. Is this a dreamweaver mx problem, was it solved in DW 8?
  5. use css to style the background to repeat none
  6. dont take my word as definite as im new to css but i think i remember hearing that it was something to do with margin width set to auto.

  11. nice simple and easy to use :)Suggestions, mostly of the design sencecolor, i see grays and eath tones, other than the logo its pretty bland. mayby a gradient background for the left column menus? also the logo is a little hard to readnice work overall thought
  12. mainly cross browser compatibility, code efficiency, valid to w3 standards that kind of thing. My biggest problem is that the code is extremely touchy and alot of the time my menu section will disapear completely and is unrecoverable. Im not sure what exactly is causing it. Right now im using the method found on bluerobot and its just not working for me.
  13. I've seen and tried a few different methods for 2 column layouts (header/left menu/content/footer) and im just curious of all the different way which is the best?
  14. you could try bypassing windows alltogether by booting from a cd OS or a portable storage device
  15. designers focus on the graphic elements, developers focus on the code elements and ive never heard the term builder used before
  16. thanks for the responces, heres a questioninternal css overrides external ccs right? so would adding a class to the <li> link that goes to about.htm in the about.htm file and then styles it as desired work?or would making a css class like a.current in the external sheet and then in about.htm add that class to that particular li be a better choice?does it matter which method i use?
  17. http://news.google.com/?ned=us&topic=tsee how the current location is indicated using a different background color? Is there a way to achieve this through css or anything other then manualy editing the background in html?tutorial links or anything would be great
  18. An image template is a simple way of assembling a website. You create the entire site as an image in a photoshop like program and then you slice it into sections (banner, navigation, content) and then you layout the table in dreamweaver or hand code it, drop the images in and youve got yourself a very simple/primitive webpage.

  22. Just currious about the rules concerning avatars / signaturesI see in the rules for posting that you cant advertise directly or indirectly, does this also apply to signatures and avatars? If i were to put my logo as my avatar or a link to my portfolio in my sig would that be considered a violation?
