Basic Flash Player

How would I go about creating a basic flash player that can be embedded into a website (like the video players youtube has). I know this can't be made overnight and requires some knowledge of flash, I'd just like to get a little information on what all is involved it creating one, and if anyone knows of any good sites for tutorials on making one (I've searched google and haven't been able to find anything).

Learn ActionScript first, and think about this after you know a certain amount. I'm afraid I can't give a source to an ActionScript tutorial, my knowledge comes from a big variety of places.

The best reference possibly is the actual help installed with Adobe's program, as it nearly provides an some example code with every segment. I believe it can be found online here.http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/action_...ipt_dictionary/As for AS tutorials, this is the site my old high school still uses.http://64.79.199.41:8080/jweb/Just log on as guest and you should get some pretty moderate lessons. Of course there are better ones out there, but this is the only one that immediately comes to mind. The tutorials are in AS 2.0, if that makes a difference to you. For the player, you'd have to figure out how you are going to get the video (possibly other .swf files) or the music, whichever or both you need to get playing. AS has some nice objects that handle most of what you'll need to do, most of what's left is for you to get a working interface to correspond to all of these actions.
