Mark H
Hi all,I hope I have placed this question in the correct place.I know almost nothing about MySQL as my only use of it thus far is using forum/blog scripts that are fairly automatic.I do, however, now want to add an online petition to my website and want to store the data gathered, and I am thinking that SQL would probably be the best option. How do I code, or which tutorial do I look at, to set up a simple form: NAME, POSTCODE, EMAIL ADDRESS and then have these put in a database. Many thanks,Mark. justsomeguy
There are several examples in this thread which deal with processing forms and using a database. The last post includes a user registration system that stores everything in a MySQL database.http://w3schools.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=12509

Mark H
Okay, this is loking quite complicated for a beginner like me! May take me some time.I'm okay on setting up the form in HTML...will this be suitable for also using a PHP based transfer to a MySQL database?(I'm reading through the PHP tutorials as well at the moment, and then will probably need to look at the SQL tutorial.)Mark. jeffman
Most of the regulars on this board use that work-flow exactly: HTML->PHP->MySQL->PHP->HTML
justsomeguy
Lately my workflow has been more along these lines:Javascript -> Beer -> PHP -> Beer -> Javascript -> Beer -> Javascript -> Beer -> Javascript -> PHP -> Beer -> Beer -> Beer
wirehopper
XHTML -> beverage -> javascript -> beverage -> Review -> PHP / MySQL -> beverage -> Test -> Submit -> Fix Bugs -> beverage -> Repeat last two steps:)
