Ingolme
You can store the data in a text file or XML file but it's going to have to be stored somewhere. Is there some problem you have with databases?

justsomeguy
There's a thread which describes a registration and login system here: http://w3schools.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=12509 I would recommend that you resolve the problems installing MySQL, if you're going to deploy PHP code on a shared server it will be running MySQL. Err
If you don't already have it, I would highly recommend WampServer (if you're using Windows), it installs Apache, PHP and mysql in one go.
