justsomeguy
To elaborate, it means the first browser version that the item shows up in. So to take this example from the CSS ref: color Sets the color of a text color 3 1 4 1 This means that the color property first showed up in IE version 3, Firefox version 1, and Netscape version 4. The 1 on the end means that it was in CSS v1.Or another example from HTML: <span> Defines a section in a document 4.0 3.0 STF Here the 4.0 means available since Netscape 4.0, the 3.0 means available since IE 3.0, and the STF means it shows up in the Strict, Transitional, and Frameset doctypes.
