I suggest going to www.w3schools.com and clicking on the PHP tutorial. Learn the basics (for FREE) and save your money for when you need an advanced PHP book. You can usually learn the basics of everything on the internet.

Well, the zend enginge website has an extremly good tutorial for begginers, even if it hasnt been updated in a year or two . http://www.zend.com/php/beginners/index.phpReally good if you are (or were) completey new to a programming language *cough*me*cough*

I used PHP for Dummies. if you go to www.dummies.com then you will probably be able to order it from there. you should try the tutorials first, though. I did.
