Ok i am trying to start online business but i need help starting off.I already learned php. But i don't know whats the first step.I am wondering if anyone can help.I don't really know how to start off making a search engine, any code or links on how to code and start is would be usefull.And i also would like to know how to make a shopping cart feature. I don't know the coding. Or how to start with it. Wel i have seen how to edit the stuff but not how to leave somoene come on the website and edit it them self. Any links or code or advise would be helpfull.How to make it something like when you go to walmart.com that you can choose what to put in the cart etc. I am in learning and building mode :)

making a shopping isn't so easy as though it seems, you my want to use some Open Source, see my sig. But if you want to create a e-store on your own, things reqd. CSS, JS, PHP (or any other), DATABASE, and most above of all security, anyone could find flaws and start to destroy things. if you are going to make it yourselft download a copy of the free oS available and see their search engines.so final answer: to start a business use OS, or learn or hire someone. :)

Searching depends on what you want to search. Searching for things in a database is pretty easy. Searching through files or something is a little more difficult, but still not bad. But you can always have a form that submits to Google and have Google only search your site. You just need to make sure that Google has your site indexed.The best thing to do if you are starting out is look for existing software that does what you want, and see how it works and see how they did it. There are plenty of open source shopping carts and things like that, you can probably find a basic search engine also.

if you have a corporate e-store, you my not want to use google, custom things appeal much. but if the vendor is someone else then the whole story changes
