murfitUK
I use PSPad - does the highlighting you want for almost any language(!) but not the debugging. www.pspad.com
jesh
Until I moved into the Visual Studio world, I used UltraEdit and loved it. It's not free but I felt that it was worth the cost ($40 or so).
reportingsjr
I use edit pad, it doesnt highlight or anything but provides what you need! Also, I dont think there is an editor with a php debugger in it, yet. Steve will probably be in here in just a bit saying to get conTEXT lol.
Little Goat
well, I'll beat him to it. Context features a file explorer, syntaxt highlighting (for many different languages, PHP included) and you can even create your own highlighting. oh, and it has tabs to open multiple files at once. justsomeguy
And code templates, and macros, and file compare, and shell execute, user defined commands (compiler integration, etc), projects, text conversion, bookmarks, incremental search, console output, column selection, select matching braces, etc etc. It also exports to HTML or RTF, you can open a syntax-highlighted file and export it to an HTML file, so it gives you an HTML page that displays your highlighted code. You can also highlight some text and hit CTRL-SHIFT-C to comment/uncomment it.
DeathRay2K
I use CuteFTP, simply because its easy to save the file and upload it.
justsomeguy
You should be able to set the text editor to open in another editor such as ConTEXT. Or, when you install ConTEXT, you can have it replace Notepad and it will open anyway when you view from CuteFTP.But PSPad also has an FTP client. yoshida
Right, Crimson is freeware but of little use when you program from Linux.I think Bluefish would do fine when using KDE.
