icon next to the url in the address field

i'm trying to put an icon next to my url too, but it isn't workingi got this code from wiki<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> what else am i missing?
You might be trying to use IE when you test? I've never gotten one to show up in IE.

Make sure that the favicon is the correct format. A BMP file renamed as an ICO is not an icon. Icons have a specific file format, which you can find explained through Google, and there are also websites that will create the file for you if you upload an image. In particular, the favicon is a 16x16 icon, and I believe it is 256 colors. But again, you can find specifics through a Google search, there is a lot of information out there.
