  1. Its worse than that they are well known for the adware.I hate um
  2. Ah right yeah I did not read it properly I just clicked on the link asuming that would be your site.
  3. Typical I just tryed but got carnt find server it must be down for a min I will check againg in a short while but just off looking the attachment you have given it looks pretty cool.
  4. Well dont wee all miss stuff thats why it is good to get a freash head on it sometimes. Yes it was a silly misstake but hey we all make um.
  5. Well in posting the result of the validator you have answered your owen question. It is cos you are missing the title tag.You will also want a doc type too for it to truly be valid.

  7. They have depiciated the embed tag as it is no longer needed the object tag does the same job and a whole lot more too. With them clamping down on all this sloppy coding that was just one of many things that had to go.Here is an article on how Flash objects should now be added to the page.http://www.alistapart.com/articles/flashsatay/This is it without progressive download you will have to set the height and width in CSS for it to be valid too thats why I have not added it to this example.<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="filename.swf"><param name="movie" value="filename.swf" /><param name="autostart" value="0"/></object>
  8. Firstly you should not use the embed tag anymore as it is depricated now, the object tag should be used instead. Then to your question I am not sure if it works with flash player I only used it with windows media player. I think for flash you have to do something in the flash file but I am not sure as I dont use Flash.<param name='autoStart' value='0' />

    Simple website

Yeah we know and it is a nice thaught but it is better to let people do it them self anyways as that is how you learn. Also as mentioned your coding is far from the correct way of doing it so really your giving them a shortcut to a bad place to be.But it is nice that your are thinking of others and trying to help.

Actualy it does it you want it to be valid.
  12. Yeah you most likely also have properties for the p tag and the text is probably using these properties instead.EDIT Yeah after now taking a look at your css file Little goat is right your body section in the CSS file has the comment tags all messed up.
  13. It is still only transitional valid even without the ads, really you should be making it valid with the strick doc type though not the transitional doc type.Transitional doc type is for old sites just to get by on for the min any new sites should be made with the strict doc type. Well thats the way I see it anyways. As for why your having problems with validation just cos of Google ads I dont know why as I have never had Google ads on any of my sites. But in the code you have.</object></layer></div></span></style></noscript></table></script></applet><script language="javascript">var google_language="en";var adHB=true; </script><script language="javascript" src="http://www.brinkster.com/adplace.js"></script><script language="javascript">wDoL("top","D3D80WT");</script><script language="javascript">wCls("D3D80WT");</script><script language="javascript">wDoL("btm","D3D80WT");</script><script language="javascript">showA("D3D80WT");</script><div style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#666666; font-size:9px">Web Hosting by <a href="http://www.brinkster.com" style="color:#000000" target="_blank">Brinkster</a></div> Now the first 9 tags out of that are all closing none existant elements. Tables or Css?

But Skemcin your post has nothing to do with the original post though. But yes I agree aslong as you do go though the code your copy and pasting there is no problem in that, as you say infact it makes learning easier. No I don't just come here to relive boredom I come here to get help and help others whilst hopefully having some fun whilst doing it, and yes I do think it should be a fun and happy environment, I don't see the point though in going over the same thing again and again.I already know why some people like tables and I already know why some people like use divs and CSS. Going over it once is fine but going round in circles going over the same things again and again just seems a bit pointless.Even more so when people take this topic so serious that it causes people to fall out, in this thread and in all the other threads I have seen on this topic it spirals into quite a nasty little debate with personal attack fired in left right and center.
  15. The * is used to make it so the css that folows is only picked up in IE and not Firefox. You have to use hacks like this as diffrent browsers interprate CSS differently. The # is used to say the CSS that follows is and ID. An ID is the same sort of thing as a class but an ID can only be used once on each page where as classes can be used multiple times. ID is also more likley to work in certain situations but you wont need to worry about that unless you plan on doing some programming too.

    Tables or Css?

It is a good topic and it does bring up a lot of good issues but, it just goes on forever going round in circles and it has come up in other forums I use multiple times in each.

    height

Let us see what you got so far so we can see where your going wrong.
  18. Cheers matey I have made the alterations you mentioned ta.
  19. Anyways is mine that bad nobody wants to tell me or something?Nobody has even mentioned it.
  20. Ah right sound cheers fella.Doe! If only I had a brain. Yeah your both right it does go right gammy at 800*600 it does not look right at 1024*768 either I dont think. Also why is the nav links not setup as a list?As that is what navs are just a list of links, setting them up as a list makes the easyer to style as you wish aswell as being semantically correct. I see you like to use the <br /> tag for spacing too instead of giving things margins.I love the image on the bottom left.
  21. Are you guys looking at the same site as Jonas and I?It dont make any diffrence except it hides the end of the banner along the top when I resize it to 800*600I am not keen on the site as a whole really definatly the use of frames I hate frames, but I dont see hwta your talking about when you resize it, I even added the bookmarks window on the left and resized too 800*600 and nothing breaks as mentioned.

    Ordered Lists...

Na your right I just did not test it properly in all browsers.
  24. Yeah it is a security issue that has been fixed there is a javascript work around but I would say avoid using Flash where you can anyways and only use it when you really have to as there are so many problems with using flash content anyways. Here check this thread out for the Javascript work around.
