  1. Yea, that would be best. It's the most straightforward.
  2. Well..it would be possible if you could make it so that inside the text file, the text is surrounded by a variable define. If that's true, then you could access the code with a <script src=""> and underneath, use the variable and format it as you like. But I'm not sure if you'd be able to.
  3. I'm feeling the NFS games are getting slightly redundant now. Nothing new except for the UI(personal opinion), and the cars.
  4. That's because the filter property is not a W3C standard. You'll have to work around it with other CSS properties like opacity, or just use images.
  5. http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/That's the new version of Partition Expert 2003, supposedly.
  6. You mean the bunny function?I'm pretty sure you can't retrieve more than one element with the getElementById("") function. That's why it's getElement instead of getElements, like getElementsByTagName.That's why it's probably giving an error.Choco
  7. Suppose you were on domain www.something.com. Your current HTML page is www.something.com/hello/omg/what/hello.html.This stylesheet link would access www.something.com/hello/style.css<link ref="stylesheet" href="../style.css" />But if you wanted to access something.com/style.css, you'd use:<link ref="stylesheet" href="/style.css" />I think.
  8. I can definitley make scripts with onClick run. :S
  9. You're right, but it would still probably work. It depends on what browser you're using--most of the events are case insensitive.But because of the 'most', it's a good idea to follow skimmy's instructions.
  10. Or do you need something with syntax highlighting and so on? If so, then like Utopia said, I suggest dreamweaver. If you're not willing to shell out that much cash, try this piece of software.
  11. Good point. That thing sure confused me.
  12. I think you can do stuff like:with(Math) { test=round(1.5) testtwo=anothermethod(num)}And it would execute round() and anothermethod() as methods of the Math object, so you don't have to keep typing it out.
  13. That's awesome. So it's like with()?
  14. Hmm...I might get the game. Is there like a free trial version available somewhere?
  15. In the TinyMCE rich text editing javascript code, in the initiation sequence, there's some javascript with :'s. I have no clue what it is and how to use it. Here's an example: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> tinyMCE.init({ mode : "textareas", theme : "advanced", plugins : "spellchecker,style,layer,table,save,advhr,advimage,advlink,emotions,iespell,insertdatetime,preview,zoom,media,searchreplace,print,contextmenu,paste,directionality,fullscreen,noneditable,visualchars,nonbreaking,xhtmlxtras", theme_advanced_buttons1_add_before : "save,newdocument,separator", theme_advanced_buttons1_add : "fontselect,fontsizeselect", theme_advanced_buttons2_add : "separator,insertdate,inserttime,preview,separator,forecolor,backcolor", theme_advanced_buttons2_add_before: "cut,copy,paste,pastetext,pasteword,separator,search,replace,separator", theme_advanced_buttons3_add_before : "tablecontrols,separator", theme_advanced_buttons3_add : "emotions,iespell,media,advhr,separator,print,separator,ltr,rtl,separator,fullscreen", theme_advanced_buttons4 : "insertlayer,moveforward,movebackward,absolute,|,styleprops,|,spellchecker,cite,abbr,acronym,del,ins,|,visualchars,nonbreaking", theme_advanced_toolbar_location : "top", theme_advanced_toolbar_align : "left", theme_advanced_path_location : "bottom", content_css : "/example_data/example_full.css", plugin_insertdate_dateFormat : "%Y-%m-%d", plugin_insertdate_timeFormat : "%H:%M:%S", extended_valid_elements : "hr[class|width|size|noshade],font[face|size|color|style],span[class|align|style]", external_link_list_url : "example_data/example_link_list.js", external_image_list_url : "example_data/example_image_list.js", flash_external_list_url : "example_data/example_flash_list.js", file_browser_callback : "mcFileManager.filebrowserCallBack", theme_advanced_resize_horizontal : false, theme_advanced_resizing : true, apply_source_formatting : true, spellchecker_languages : "+English=en,Danish=da,Dutch=nl,Finnish=fi,French=fr,German=de,Italian=it,Polish=pl,Portuguese=pt,Spanish=es,Swedish=sv" });</script> I always also see the init() at the top when it's used. Is this some sort of way of setting variables in a class?Thanks.-Choco
  16. I have a 19" supersharp flatscreen LCD by Dell. It only goes up to 1280x1024. :)I wish I had bought a better video card though I guess I had to choose either a good video card or dual tv tuners. Ya, I made a good choice.
  17. When HTML/XHTML is validated, onLoad or events with capital letters give errors and are not recognized.
  18. You can't. Only the moderators can. If you need to remove something from a topic, just use the edit button
  19. Yup, there is :)Make sure your element looks like this, note the id="":<input type="text" value="Input" id="txt" />This button makes it so that the text's value is sent to a javascript function, which I will just show you:<input type="button" value="Go!" onclick="val()" />Now, in the <head> section of your HTML document, add this:<script type="text/javascript">function val() { x=document.getElementById("txt").value; //Ok, now x contains the value of your form element.}</script>There ya go.
  20. I don't think that's true, Scott. IE 6 came out before that---I have a cd labled 2000.
  21. Then why would you write it to the server OS? Why not just put it in a database, or upload it into the public_html section of your OS?
  22. <form size="1" height="1"/><select><optgroup label="Affilates"><option value="http://your url.com" onclick="window.location=this.value;">Purezc</option><option value="Myspace">Myspace</option><option value="Photobucket">Photobucket</option></select></form>See what I did with your "Purezc" option?
  23. It's possible...but it would be best done in Flash. With javascript, you'd have to have 100 different images and a LOT of typing. Each state would have to have 2 images per: selected, and deselected. Also, for each state, you'd have to write an array with the other states that have to be selected when the current state is selected. In flash, you'd still have as much coding, but it wouldn't take forever to load, and you wouldn't have to make all of those images.Just my $.02.
