  1. Hi,I just received a gift from my elder brother - his used iMac with OS 8. I'm still learning it. Mac users Please advise me, (if possible I don't want to use IExplorer on my iMac), Which one is the best browser in your experience for Mac OS 8? I will welcome all your comments so please don't hesitate. Thanks for your time.Dorothy
  2. Hi Reportingsjr,Did you check Shoutcast! If you have a server I think you can broadcast 24 hrs with Shoutcast.dorothy
  3. You both are right. What joecoolaug means is this, "if you use background image without any restrictions than it will cover 100% of your page and you will not be able to see any background color even if it's there."But if you restrict it like in the example you mentioned above, that's restricted background. Check the code below.background: #00ff00 url('smiley.gif') no-repeat fixed center NO REPEAT - FIXED - CENTER + SMALL IMAGE + THAT IMAGE IS A TRANSPARENT IMAGE.So you can see the background color. Normally background image command repeats the image until it covers the whole page and most of the time background images are non-transparent.If you go to above example page and just remove "no-repeat" from the code and Click on the "Edit the text and click me" button, it will show you background image all over the page. Try it.dorothy

  5. Hi Amy,Welcome to the forum.Soulution is simple, just replace top image "comparison_category.gif" (which is 686X90) with exactly the small single images you have at the bottom like; <tr><td class="club_name"> <img src="guide_club.gif"></td> <td class="ranking"> <img src="guide_comedians.gif"></td> <td class="ranking"> <img src="guide_ambiance.gif"></td> <td class="ranking"> <img src="guide_service.gif"></td> <td class="ranking"> <img src="guide_food.gif"></td> <td class="ranking"> <img src="guide_seats.gif"></td> <td class="age"> <img src="guide_age.gif"></td> <td class="drink"> <img src="guide_drink.gif"></td> <td class="ticket"> <img src="guide_ticket.gif"></td> <td class="comments"> <img src="guide_comments.gif"> </td></tr>They aligns and looks perfect in IE6(PC) in their place.dorothy

    IE help -.-

    In my opinion, you should fix it ASAP. Because you may loose some IE users/players.OK, try to redirecting it to "welcome.php" instead of "firefox.php". See what happens. That's Great News & "Happy Birthday to you".Hope it's not too late.dorothy
  7. Hi joecoolaug,W3school has nice collection of examples. We have to play around it a little. Line-height is space between two lines. Greater the number more space. For example, your avtar. You have more space between two lines than normal spacing.dorothy

    Hi RahXephon,I belive it has something to do with host.I did everything you mentioned but same results.I can see background image in Firefox but not in IE6. Even I tried to load image directly with URL > http://oneuse.awardspace.com/layout/top_banner_bg.jpg without any success. In IE6 that url opens up the http://www.awardspace.com/articles/do_i_ne...eb_hosting.html page automatically.I even opened up my free account at awardspace and tried to see images from my account page but same results with that particular host for images. I can't see any in IE6 [X] but I can see same images in Firefox. It happens with some of the free hosting companies.Anyway, your pages are nice and code looks clean to me. I specially like the > IP Address, Date and Browser effect. Can you pm me the code or link for that code please.dorothy
  9. Hi joecoolaug,You can use "px" or "%" for height. Please check the code below. Believe this is what you want.I don't like "666666" so I used color Gray.Tested in only IE6 & Firefox. <html><head><style type="text/css">div.container{width:100%;margin:0px;border:1px solid gray;line-height:105%;}div.header,div.footer{padding:0.5em;color:white;background-color:gray;clear:left;}h1.header{height:18px;padding:10;margin:0;}div.left{float:left;width:30%;height:80%;margin:0;padding:1em;}div.content{margin-left:30%;height:80%;border-left:1px solid gray;padding:1em;}</style></head><body><div class="container"><div class="header"><h1 class="header">BLAH</h1></div><div class="left"><h2>This is Left side</h2>BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH</div><div class="content"><h2>This is Right side (id: Content)</h2>BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH </div><div class="footer"><font size="1">© 2004-2006 joecoolaug inc.</font></div></div></body></html> ----------------------------------------------------------------Sometimes "float" code creates alignment problems in CSS.Hope this works for you.dorothy
  10. Hi Jason,Your code is not complete. I can't see whole page as you intended. But I visited your ebay shop which looks GOOD to me except you need a nice header. Does ebay offer any templates for the shops? Like you can choose different color combination or design? As for fonts, I will recommend most common fonts like Arial - Helvetica - Times which most of the computers including Macs are preloaded with and have it. Size of the store categories buttons in the Transtool store is the same as yours except they're using black and yellow background images. With the merchandise you're currently selling and me as a prospective buyer, your shop/store looks fine and easy to navigate. Shop design is simple and common but there is an advantage to it. Most of the buyers/users know that design well, can easily navigate and faster too.I also visited the Transtool shop you mentioned in your other post. That's a PRO job. If you have some time you can do that as "RahXephon" & "Cronthenoob" suggested in your other post.Your advantage is you're a graphic designer.Transtool store is a good combo of CSS and graphics. I also recommend you to hire/ask a web designer to help you code your store. Because as in any store you need frequent updates for your inventory, merchandise, auctions, special sales, other offers etc,.I know several other "Simple or Basic" eBay stores who are Power Sellers and doing good. I think, it's the good customer service, good merchandise and competitive pricing that sells and not just the good appereance of a store.I like your store as is except adding a good header but you're the king of that castle, it's your choice.Wish you all the best.dorothy

    Hi Reportingsjr,I can see how much you hate "IE" or "Microsoft". Name calling will not take you anywhere in your life. This forum is one of the BEST forum on the net where mature people respect and try to help each other. Please always use right words even if you don't know the "right reason or solution" to the query. Be courteous and respectful to other members on this forum.About your request in your other post at: http://w3schools.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=7048 My Answer: 1. I changed width to 750 in "#nav{width:750px;". It was 550px in your original code.2. I also changed float: to center in "#nav img{float:center}" It was "left" in your original code.3. About footer overlapping the content, I wish I can help you but I don't have the solution. Only thing I can tell you is, it has something to do with "Javascript" on that page. Hope someone else can help you with it.dorothy

Because on other sites I can see all the images in IE6 as well as Firefox the same way.dorothy

    Try the new CSS below. Just compare and save it with your original CSS. First don't forget to save a copy of your original CSS before you make any changes. It worked on my computer! Hope it solves your problem. If you want your navigation buttons in the center, just add <center> after <div id="nav"> and END it at </div> in "excibius/index.php". /* Copyright opserty.com. */body{background-color:#000; margin:0; padding:0; color:#909090; font-family:Georgia,"Times New Roman",Times,serif; font-size:12px}#wrap{width:807px; margin:0 auto}#header, #content, #footer{margin:0; padding:0; width:807px}#header{background:#000 url(images/header.gif) no-repeat top left; height:105px; padding-top:131px; /*float:left; */}#nav{width:750px; height:33px; margin:0 auto}#nav a img{border:none}#nav img{float:center}#footer{background:#000 url(images/footer.gif) no-repeat top center; height:194px; margin-top:-110px}#footer a, #footer a:hover, #footer a:visited {color:#000000;font-size:1px;}#footer a #ct{width:333px; margin:120px 237px 0 237px; height:64px; float:left; border:none}* html #ct{margin:80px 237px 0 0}#content{background-image:url(images/cont_bg.gif); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:top center; min-height:261px; padding:0 70px; width:667px; margin-top:-10px}* html #content{margin-top:0}#content h1{font-size:12px; color:#FFF}

    Got it!Do you know the EXACT size of the banner up there?I hope you gonna keep the fix size of the banner all the time!dorothy
  21. Same here. I removed it too.dorothy
  22. Yes, Your images. Original sizes are little bigger than showing. Plus in my opinion, file sizes are big too.dorothy
  23. marderiii,Just curious. Is there a purpose to keep two body tags in your code! dorothy

    Webpage

    You mean you want "Welcome to Eternity Online!" underneath "Banner" in the same cell?I looked in IE and Firefox looks ok to me except they aren't in the same cell!dorothy
  25. There is nothing wrong with your code. It's the IE "Closing Tag Syndrome". Which leaves extra space. Try the code below. It will not solve the problem of extra space but it will close the line/border. <table class="inputbox" cellspacing="0"> <tbody><tr><td colspan="2" class="inputheader"> <form action="">Login </td></tr><tr><td class="inputtag"> Username: </td><td align="left"> <input class="input" maxlength="20" size="20" type="text" /> </td></tr><tr><td class="inputtag" align="center"> Password: </td><td align="left"> <input class="input" maxlength="20" size="20" type="password" /> </td></tr><tr><td colspan="2" class="inputsubmit" align="center"> <input name="submit" class="submit" value="Login" type="submit" /> </td></tr><tr><td colspan="2" align="center"><a href="forgotpass.php" class="forgotpass"> forgotten your password? </a></form></td></tr></tbody></table> All I did is, just moved <form> </form> tags inside the Table.I wish someone here finds a permanent solution for this problem.Dorothy
