Anders Moen
Have you put the files in "htdocs" then?Like this: C:/Program files/xampp/htdocs/yourfile.php and then you go to http://localhost/yourfile.phpI don't know where you have put xampp, but I assume it's either there or here:C:/xampp/htdocs/

zppblood
You probably want to uninstall XAMPP and try WAMP insteadhttp://www.wampserver.com/en/Or read the XAMPP FAQhttp://www.apachefriends.org/en/faq-xampp-windows.html
justsomeguy
Make sure you don't already have a web server running. A computer can only run one "default" web server at a time, since by default web servers listen on port 80, which is HTTP. If you already have something installed that is listening on port 80, then a web server will not be able to work with the default config.
