jlhaslip
I think IIS is on XP Pro only, not the basic system.
Ingolme
If you really want a 24/7 server running on Windows, it would be better if you get Windows Server rather than XP or other systems. A normal windows takes a lot of memory and CPU which would make page loading very slow for people visiting your server. And it also would be recommendable to buy a physical server (a specialized computer) rather than a normal desktop computer, it's made to handle web traffic. But whether you decide to run a server on your desktop with Windows XP or on specialized hardware and software, you also need to be aware of all the security threats and make sure to protect your server from them. justsomeguy
You might also want to look into renting a dedicated server. There are several places where you can get a Linux/Apache or Windows Server dedicated machine to use for whatever you want.
