wongadob
I am looking for a solution to the following problem. I have a text box where people can enter names (imagine e-mail 'to' box) What I want to be able to do is insert a HTML object within that text box, so when somebody enters a name that the system recognises it can change the name into a kind of icon of the name with a little x in the corner to delete it again. I have seen this done on many sites and wondered how it is done. Anybody have any ideas? or know any open source? To more clearly see what I am talking about, take a look at the attached jpg Regards Marc

eTianbun
You need to be familiar with javascript to do this.
wongadob
I know a fair bit of Javascript and Jquery. The project I am working on uses both extensively and Ajax, having said that I am no expert. I am using knockout.js also to do screen updates, but not sure how I can actually get in effect a piece of HTML within the textbox
eTianbun
Actualy, an html cannot go withing <input> element (textbox), because it is an empty element. It is actualy html element, beside a textbox. E.g: <div id='input'><span id='icon'></span> <input id='textbox'/></div>
