You can always edit the topic heading to indicate that the topic is solved. You are right the search function doesn't function.

w3schools doesnt own the forum you have to speak to invisionzone about those

The broken search is a long standing issue. As mentioned, InvisionZone is the only one that can fix it. I believe the mods (specifically JSG) have contacted them, but they will not offer support because the mods do not own this forum account. The Refnes people own it, and they, unfortunately, don't seem to care. You can try contacting them yourself, but don't hold your breath.
