http://mason.gmu.edu/~rpotter/ietsampleAlright so I coded this site (really basic and not done yet) but before I get too far into it I wanted to check its compatibility. So if you have time, please help me. Look at in in IE, this is the way it is supposed to look. Then look at it in Netscape/firefox... how can I fix it so that it looks the way it does in IE?Thanks,BrianP.S. if you need to see the css:http://mason.gmu.edu/~rpotter/ietsample/splash-style.csshttp://mason.gmu.edu/~rpotter/ietsample/general.csshttp://mason.gmu.edu/~rpotter/ietsample/menu.css

It doesn't look that bad in Firefox 3. I haven't tested it in Opera or Safari, but Gecko-based browsers (Netscape, Mozilla, Flock) shouldn't have a problem with it.

why are u testing in netscape. aren't they dead?? http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.aspcheck that out. according to it .5% of people using the web use netscape. and it is less every month. I would not try to validate with netscape for these reasons and put your efforts according to this graph. dont worry so much about ie6 because ie8 isnt that far away

Netscape 9 == Firefox 2, so testing in NS (9) is the same as testing in FF 2 :)

On the contrary, worry A LOT about IE6. IE6 is still VERY heavily used so it'd be proper to create your website considering this browser. The list you see from W3Schools.com from the link above it may probably be stats for www.w3schools.com only, not as a "general" information table of what the entire Internet is using. As you can see, Firefox is the most used browser, that only make sense because most of the visitors W3schools.com gets are Developers/Web Designers. But the interesting thing here is that IE6 and IE7 are practically the same percentage in June but in May and April IE6 is higher:2008 IE7 IE6June 27.0% 26.5%May 26.5% 27.3%April 24.9% 28.9%
