niche
Taking your question as asked, /js is a path in the w3schools website. I'll bet that's not really what you want to know. If so, please be more specific.
ameliabob
I would like to know how I could see the calling sequence so I could determine how to precede. in the first instance the calling sequence goes to the w3schools home; but the second sequence goes to the java script and doesnt' go to the home. Both of these are called from the address bar.
Ingolme
Server software, such as Apache or IIS, receive an HTTP request. The request goes to the domain w3schools.com and asks for a URI. In your first example, the URI is "/" while in the second it is "/js". The server software then serves the file which is found at the specified location within the server's folder structure. URL rewriting can be used to tell it to choose a different file to serve.
