The Praetorian
An added problem to that, Justsomeguy, is what do you do if you need to spell check? I write the content for my website in WordPerfect, paste into conTEXT, add the appropriate mark-up, and then I have to go through and do Find/Replace for ' and ". I really do wish there was a way to turn the abnormal " ' off for Word so I wouldn't have to go through that trouble.
reportingsjr
Thats just another reason to not use it, besides why not just copy content you want spell checked into word and do it?
The Praetorian
I'd thought of that, but that actually takes longer than using find/replace. With that method, I'd have to copy to word, and go back and forth each time I see a word spelled wrong and fix it in conTEXT.

Skemcin
Thats just another reason to not use it, besides why not just copy content you want spell checked into word and do it?Dreamweaver has Spell Check in it - again most WYSIWYG editors are really far more efficient to use than a plain text editor - you just need to get to know the software and use it code mode only - take advantage of all the WYSIWYG features but without the WYSIWYG. The Praetorian
Well, I'd be happy to use one if I could find one I didn't have to pay for.

justsomeguy
Well, I'd be happy to use one if I could find one I didn't have to pay for.I know what you're saying, but keep this in mind:http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=micros...=Search+FroogleBut it's usually a hidden cost.Anyway, since it was bugging me, for Word 2003:1. Choose the "Tools" menu and select "AutoCorrect Options". 2. When the "AutoCorrect" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "AutoFormat" tab.3. Uncheck "Straight quotes with smart quotes".4. Select the "Autoformat as you type" dialog box.5. Uncheck "Straight quotes with smart quotes".6. Press "OK" to close the dialog box. http://malektips.com/word_2003_0003.html
The Praetorian
Ah..You are a life saver. I don't have Word 2003, I have WordPerfect, but the process is basically the same and they're off now. Thanks!
