It does depend, you actually see more applets than you think. Its alot more powerful than flash to :). It can connect to database and such *wooooo*. :) I'm learning it right now to. What are you working on sniffy?
Flash can connect to databases. There are several tools available for Flash that make it very powerful. For example, we built a series of training courses for the Air Force that are standalone Flash applications. They can be copied to a memory card or downloaded on a PDA, installed to the PDA and executed to go through the training, and communicate back with a central server to send the results of the training. You can also make Flash applications that run as normal desktop applications (without a browser). The newer versions of Flash have several pretty cool features.
