Portfolio Feedback?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,I built a portfolio site for myself a few months back, and didn't really get any major feedback on it. I think the layout is pretty solid, but I'm looking for more opinions. It was the first site I built with CSS and XHTML; I realized late last year that HTML went out of style in 1999 and it was about time I tried to catch up with the current web development languages. :)www.bradkav.comI've been recently laid off, so any help that can be provided on the site layout itself would be great. :)One thing I realize is broken is my 'Quick Downloads' section on the main menu. I can't figure out how to get a drop-down menu to start a download. Does anyone know how to do something like this? I'd like the list there to have important links to pages and documents people can flip through and download right from the main page. Thanks in advance! :)--Kibb

Hey, realise this was posted a while ago. Hopefully your still hanging around.Like your site. Chuckled when I saw the background heheh. And I really love those little men in the top and bottom of each post. "HEY! A POST!"With your quicklinks problem.... this forum has one in the bottom right corner, is that the effect your looking for? Then use javascript because thats what w3schools has done. (and they've included the 'go' link in case users have j'script turned off)back to critique...Not sure I like the gradient so much on the edges of your container box thing, like its far from horrible but something just grates with me about it. (just my thoughts..) Maybe align your footer text towards the middle, or give it some padding on the left to help distinguish it from that left gradient a bit more. Otherwise really nice site. And I think..if its for a portfolio, then you should have a portfolio link up top, unless thats under artwork, design or projects..If you still want help with the 'shortlist of version 2.0', let me know here and I'll drop you an email with my limited knowledge, or post a thread in this forum with the title of what you're after and you'll probably get a better solution than what I can offer you and lots more specialist information.

I really like your site, especially the design. The background is nice and the gray color scheme looks very pleasing. What I liked most (and noticed first) was that Flash embedded object at the top. I'm talking about the one that displays your Unreal3 maps. The only improvement that I can think of is to add more of your work to your site. It would be nice if you added some games or demos to the projects page.Edit: By the way, how does your site load so fast? It even loads faster than Google! O_O

I like the background :) Other than that, I like it. I would do more with the words in the flash header, just to Spiffeh it up a bit.
