  1. I've always wondered about this and zip codes too. Is there like a free access database for something like this?
  2. It's not that bad. Tutorials are pretty good. But you do know there are much easier ways to do all those things? Especially in newer version of Photoshop and Macromedia Products....also key out programs. But with what you have it's nice.
  3. Well... I JUST found out is possible. Anyone done this? Or at least have an example (a site...not necessarly yours) of this?

    Flash PHP XML

Flash 8 can use PHP and XML.I know how to use XML in Flash......I've read about having PHP in Flash (never tried it)Anyone know if you can use PHP and XML in Flash at the same time? ...For example: to pass a parameter from PHP into Flash that calls a node value from a XML. (sortof like you basic XSLT/XML/PHP or ASP calling of a passed value/param)If this is possible anyone done this?PS -> This is what I'm talking about w3schools.com should have a more "advanced" Flash section...with like "similiar cases" comparing Flash ActionScript with XSLT
  5. Legally it's free game for anyone if an image/logo/name is not copyrighted...so if you find something on a site you can technically and legally steal it then get it copyrighted...AND then! contact the place where you "stole" it from and tell them they need to remove that image/logo/name off their site.I've seen it happen more times then you would know. But don't be that way just contact them and cite your source:) ...everyone wins.
  6. hmm that seems ugly. I think I'm going to create date and then just pass it through PHP into the XSLT
  7. Is there any functions for date/time that work for XSLT 1.0?
  8. If you build your site with XML...you can use parts of your XML to create meta tags...you can also create a RSS feed to your websiteYou can submit your website free to search engines also...search on google "free search engine submission" you'll find a lot.
  9. errr. I want to say I'm giving up...but I can't. I can't believe there hasn't been a solution yet. What if... I "overshoot" it. Like go to a child of the <image>So the for-each is channel/item/image/*Then for images and descriptions do ".."...but I don't think that would either.
  10. I know a lot of Actionscript... and I know there's script assistant...and help built in Flash 8 (and all versions) but I still think it should be on w3schools.Especially Flash mixing with XML, MySQL, PHP, ASP...that's all really important stuff and complicated...and the help from Flash doesn't go that advanced. I don't think w3 should tell people how to "draw" but more of the Actionscript part. ...not complaining...I just think it should.
  11. I never noticed that there was a "Flash" Section on w3schools.com...it might as well not be there, it's really really weak.Who actually writes/updates w3schools.com? Because I have sugguestions for that section. There should at least be a list of "common" actionscript functions. If I had more time I'd help...w3schools.com is almost the "one-stop" site for all your computing needs.

    AJAX

Well... because I started this... anyone have any cool ajax uses on their sites? I want to see more example. One of my friends lives and dies by Ajax...and I just want to see some good uses of it.
  13. and tables....... that was horrible. Waste of loading time and made for ugly coding.I don't get "odd reason"

    Contests

I'm going to create a "hat" to draw a random name from. I just want to make sure people are interested.

    Icon

I has another tablet pen before which I thought was sweet...but since I got a Wacom I don't even remember the brand of my old one. It's so good.boen - I think he meant "literally trace"...though there is that option available...just not through any "Macromedia" products directly. There is a vector trace available in a Photoshop...but I've seen it and it's weak. In Flash or Fireworks you can create your own vector points, but I feel sorry for someone that has to do that...maybe graphic design isn't for you. At least take an art class then try.
  16. I've tried that...that works for just section 1, or the sections (<item></items>) individually but not "as a whole" (all <item/>s in the <channel>)
  17. Flash 8...your title is 3D if you want easy 3D, best way is to get 3D Swift.
  18. <xsl:number/> or count()MY MISTAKE I wasn't thinking>

    AJAX

Err I know that. I'm not confused. I guess I can deal with it. hahaI fold.
  20. Dreamweaver 8 is the best by far...I've tried others and nothing compares.

    I'm so mad

That's fine with me. I can send you it in a better quality. Or give you a blank banner...or whateverWell, I could complain but they give me a lot of work and I'm not going to get in a fight with them over not that much...and plus it didn't take that long. Thanks for the comments

    AJAX

But a lot of things on this forum could be in other sections...but they are given an individual category. EX: XSLT...could just be in XML

    I'm so mad

So I was making an newspaper ad for a bike shop...and they are having some promotion...They called me yesterday and had me rush and I made them it, today they call me and now they aren't doing the ad......they decided that their Valentines Day Special isn't something worth printing.....they loved my work and how fast I did it...but I am not getting paid and I don't get my work printed in the paper this week. How upsetting...and I still can't get my XSLT problem solved. So I thought I could share a part of it here, so I feel like someone saw it.
