  1. Seriously now?! If i am correct about the way you are thinking my answer is based on this calculation 200hr x 5000$ = 1000000$. If you actually see a difference between thescientist's reply, valiantshady's reply and mine, (besides the values), we have a problem...I didn't even judge you about your English :S [And i won't get into that, i am pretty confident about my current skills in the language] I just said you are in a forum where most people are english-speaking so at least translate your posts to English. And a comment about your argument concerning the Greek economy. You don't live in this country, so you can't speak for this country unless you can present me some facts that actually prove what you say. If you don't understand how politics work (and i am referring to the media, the politician itself etc) it's not my fault. If you want to be a good programmer you have to start using logic, if you can't do that your chose the wrong field. This is my last post here, i am not going to argue over the internet.
  2. I can't understand the way you are thinking seriously. If i said charge 1million would you charge 1million to the client? On the other hand you are the one that said in Argentina things are way different in finding a job, why would the prices be the same in your place and the rest of the world? And you made another question, how long it will take to make the website, how the ###### are we supposed your current skill level? You are the one making the website and you are the one that knows how much experience you got. I mentioned things that were said in the previous posts but who cares, the more you see them the more possible to get people's point. I am afraid if the client accepts your price, we'll have to do with a new wave of non-sense posts. If you ever finish the website, it will probably be 95% work done by this forum's member (if there is still patience) and the rest 5% from you. I am not a mean person but seriously, this kind of attitude makes me go crazy. Oh and... Καλή τύχη στον πελάτη....that's Greek but you understand it...[at least take some time to translate your post before requesting help]
  3. Hm...you are looking for a framework then? Not a CMS? You want to build the blog yourself?
  4. did you change action="MAILTO:someone@example.com to action="proccessscript.php" ? (where proccessscript.php is the file that contains the script you posted above. You could also submit the page to itself but make sure you change it's extension to .php )
  5. I'd like to help you by testing this but i am only doing basic stuff with databases. Do you think i could be useful only by testing this in basic operations?
  6. I think you as an individual developer should be able to determine when your website is finished. When you achieve your goals or your client's goals it should be ready. In my opinion finishing the website is not the hard part. The hard part is making it perfect and that's the part where there is margin for improvement.
  7. Music in supermarkets doesn't say anything about a country been advanced or not.
  8. Reposting my suggestions here. I like your navigation bar. (i suppose links are disabled from you). I see you fixed the white area with the content paragraphs. I like it much better now. Your textarea (in the bottom right corner form) width is not equal with the input field's width. What is more i can't see your submit button in the form, the footer is hiding it (and part of the textarea). Lastly the letters on your logo image (inside the header) seem a little blurry. Oh and one more thing, add a title to your website.
  9. It now looks way better than the previous versions. Although there is room for a lot of improvements. Anyway i just wanted to say i like more than the ones you showed in other threads. By the way fix the NOTE here http://exileentertainments.webs.com/apps/videos/. Your should be You're
  10. I think its default behaviour is adding a blank line. It works like that for me.
  11. <br /> Doesn't add an empty line, it just takes you to the next line.
  12. No i meant the message i was going to post was off-topic. My point was that even now that we don't have a chat those guys are getting stormed with messages. Anyway this is the last reply i am giving for this issue in this topic. If you want to discuss it more reply in the "Most important suggestion" topic you made. Edit: And yes your message WAS off-topic
  13. Off-topic: I think this explains what i said in the topic about the chat feature ( http://w3schools.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=41171&view=findpost&p=228501 last 2 sentences).
  14. They already told you that it's not just up to the right settings to get a good rank in google search. If your website is interesting and functional, it will attract more people thus creating more traffic and refferences from other websites to your. This is major for a good ranking as JSG said.
  15. Remove the space between NewsUpdate and ($open_email_msg). Should look like NewsUpdate($open_email_msg);
  16. textarea { resize: none;} should work for IE, Firefox, Chrome and Safari, at least the latest versions. (haven't tried Opera)
  17. I didn't really understand what your problem is but you can find the books here http://w3schools.com/books/default.asp
  18. Hello everyone i am Joseph, i am 20 years old and i live in Greece. I've been a computer guy for some years now. I started as a gamer but that wasn't enough so i kept looking for more interesting things about computers. I still believe i haven't learned anything but i definitely know a lot more than an average user (yeah friends come to me when they have problems). I've learned things because i like experimenting and trial and error is the way to learn.I've decided i want to work on the programming scene because the feeling of solving a problem (that's what programming does doesn't it? ) feels like nothing in the world (well maybe a few things are better) , and it actually puts you into thinking. I started learning C++ but i thought it would be way more interesting to go into web development (feels good to be able to see your work online, and be able to share it with others). Anyway, i found w3schools and stayed here for the reason all of us did. Because it's awesome, it's beginner-friendly and the community is even better. I've had some problems that people here solved them almost in no time, and i am hoping, one day i'll be able to solve other's problems here
