  1. I agree, to understand high scale projects/features I have had to venture off of this site. This site is a great tool, never forget about it, but there are other sites that will help you a lot.
  2. Foxy, some game sites prevent high lighting because while playing some games it is very easy to accidentally activate the highlighting which screws up the game, the browser and so on. Other than that, I have no idea.I've never heard of a site disabling double click, but I have been on sites where you can't right click.
  3. Just from the start I found something, not an error, but won't do what you want I don't think. if (pass1.value.length < 4){ pass2.style.borderColor = badColor; message.style.color = badColor; message.in Shouldn't it be:pass1.style.borderColor = badColor; ?
  4. Intern doesn't always mean training. It means work experience.I want your service, I would love to work with you. But it is a bad business move to work with someone you know nothing about, who gets offended when people ask for proof and who always says "believe me I'm good" but doesn't back it up. Working for free is never a bad move when it gives you more work experience, more sites to put in your portfolio and when you really wont be working on it for that long. I am giving you a chance to add something to your portfolio, and all I want is proof you are not a little kid who thinks they are a great designer just because they can open up photoshop. I am sorry if that is offensive, but I do not want you to waste my time. Any place that hires an intern (free or not) will only take an intern that can prove they know what they need to work on and more importantly an intern who has proof that they have a sliver of knowledge on what they are doing. Internship sites are not just for teaching, but for giving the person WORK EXPERIENCE and connections. I want to help you. And you feel you can help me. So prove it. Edit: I used the word intern in my last post because it is what you are basically asking for.. You are asking us, the people of the forum, to give you a job you can work on/design. For free. We certainly wouldn't refer to you are a partner or a colleague, nor an employee.
  5. No... If you want actual websites under your belt you are going to have to work for free OR make your own.Like I said, I want to see proof you're not a 12 year old with photoshop before I use you like an Intern. You offer to work for free, then you are going to work for free. But no one will use you if you can't prove to them your worth and why they should give you job experience.
  6. ... Make a template for a website, prove you're good, and then I'll use you.I want to see proof that you know what you are doing before I include youwith my project. I'd be more than happy to work with you, but I need proofthat you aren't a 12 year old kid who just discovered Photoshop.
  7. Well can you give me any samples of your design work? If so I might have some design work for you.
  8. That makes the submit button an image, not the "Chose File" button. As for making the Choose File button an Img... I dont know. I haven't even figured out how to change the text Choose File to something else.
  9. Um, no. Learn PHP so you can make it yourself. You'll learn more. We are not trying to make it hard, and in no way am I an expert at PHP. However, I know enough to make those features and, like Foxy said, is intermediate PHP. It is difficult, we aren't trying to make it difficult.
  10. Chris Coyier had a great quote for that..."You do not have to make your website look exactly the same in all browser..."Which has relived so much stress... seems like a small thing to read and understand, but if you stop worrying about if your site looks exactly the same in each and every browser you get more work done. Just as long on the site works the way you want it to, you're fine. Plus, if EVERY web designer/developer would start to use CSS3 in all their projects browser developers would *hopefully* understand that they must start making their browsers understand the new language/tags. (Cough cough IE cough cough).
  11. Foxy hit the nail on the head... If you don't know php you basically will not be able to do any of those things. Those are advanced features.
  12. He is perfectly fine for telling us what his goal is to make. Porn shouldn't be considered a Taboo... I've learned it:Html -> CSS -> PHP -> MySQL -> Javascript Just research the last three and see what suits your needs.
  13. Just from experience I know a lot of customers have a hard time "believing" how many hours you put in working on a website. So I have switched to a flat rate charge. I discuss what the customer wants on the website (CMS, Contact Form, Blog, etc.) and depending on what the customer wants that is how much the flat rate charge will be. A majority of my customers prefer that over hourly. ~Krewe (Some advice: Learn PHP and MySQL, now. A lot of the website features customers expect a site to have will require these two languages. And like LH stated above, if you can't provide those features you will not get repeats or referrals.)
  14. Hey Guys, This website was my latest project.A teacher wanted a site similar to Imdb, but where it was books. Not movies. So I created this website. It allows you to register a new account, log-in, review books, look at book reviews, and shows you the average ratings for each book. Http://www.codekrewe.com/BookReview/website Let me know what you think. Everything works, so go hog wild. ~Krewe

    Browser Discussion

Chrome A+Opera AFirefox B+IE D- My opinion of browsers. I prefer Chrome. It never fails me and always seems to be compatible with the new CSS3 updates and such.Opera seems to work pretty well as well. I like over Firefox just because firefox always seems to give me "Errors" on stuff that really doesn't matter.IE is just terrible. The only reason it isn't an F is because you can still search the web. It never ceases to amaze me how everything works in the other 3, but IE still doesn't work. Favorite Web Design Quote: "My website works in all decent browsers... Therefore it doesn't work in IE"
  17. Well my first site for a business is complete! Http://www.surfshackyogurt.com

  21. Time to work on a log in system....

  22. Well,When I first started to code I used Notepad++ for the longest time. It is FREE, organized, and has plenty of add-ons for you to try out that can help you a lot! I like it a lot and think it is the best free text editor on the market. However,My school allowed me to download all their adobe software on my computer for a class I am taking. So now I use Dreamweaver. It is different, but the more I use it the more I love it! Only downside I havewith it is that it allows people to make websites without knowing code at all. Which is very stupid. If you aregoing to make a website you better darn well know code, because if you do not know it you are S.O.L when a bug occurs. Thanks!~Krewe
