firefox 2 is a 2nd generation browser. His browser is not a 3rd generation, the 3rd generation specs have not even been finished yet (XHTML2, CSS3, ect).

So you are saying my father-in-law who uses IE7 but is still on dial-up makes his IE7 a first gen broswer...come on if you can't defend your claim don't start making stuff up.

lol I actually work for a great company in Nova Scotia (that's in Canada). I am the lead programmer (only 1 other part timer programmer ). The companies main focus for the last 13 years has been infrastructure (networks, cctv, telephone systems,etc) but in the last 2+ years they (I) have been developing software for internal use and also a CMS for building websites.I was luck to find such a good company to work for...there are not too many people in this area that provide "good" IT services.

To respond to your comment of how horrible? It was unfair of me to not explain what I really meant. Try and look at my point of view. You pop into the forum, your first post is all about the browser you created. I know nothing about your browser so I got o your website. The website looks very unprofessional, it looks like it was not thought out very much and the interface of the browser (from your screen shots) looks the same.Bright, pastel,clashing colors do not give a very good first impression. At that point you have probably lost most visitors who will never bother to download your browser regardless if it was the best browser in the world.

would be nice if that was taken care of in your installer.

If you want to get technical you are rpomoting your product in the introduction section and furthermore this forum doesn't permit asdvertising of products.

the browser and the site look horrible. Explain to me how you making up bunch of (generaly useless) features makes it a 3rd generation browser. What do you mean you think it is a browser???Does the browser pass the Acid2 test? How does your standards compliance compare to Firefox or Opera???I'm sorry for being rude but it is laughable if you think you can get people to use your browser, if that is really what it is!

I don't know much about MACs but I would think that the software wouldn't pay too much attention to the harware as apposed to the operating system.Do intel macs still run the sam OS as classic MACs?check to see that the MySql service is running. If it is not hten the command prompt can't open.

you can place your script just before the </body> to gaurantee all the dom is loaded or you can use the onload event to trigger your script but this could have a significant delay if there are large images to load.

or perhaps research other local companies were you can get a job, prefereabley a company run by people who are not idiots!

I remeber reading that there is a new technology that is prdicted to kill SVG, whether it does or not is another story. I think it was a new MS technology, they may never support SVG.

my vote is to keep it in the XML forum. We don't need a forum foreach new XML based technology.

I router has a hardware firewall which IMO is better than a software firewall. It helps you control which ports are open and who can access them. It also let's you share your connection or setup wireless connections.There really is no reason not to have one, unless of course you enjoy picking up the pieces each time your computer gets hacked or gets viruses.

try their support forum. This is a very common issue with brinkster there is probably a dozen answers tot eh same problem you are having.

a 5 letter/number captcha is the easiest way to stop spam bots, if you used that and had a way to ban ip addresses from manual spammers you would be in pretty good shape.

these days not requiring some sort of interaction from the user (login or captcha) is just a spam disaster waiting to happen.

As much as I prefer clean hand written code (I like Notepad2) I have to agree. I use Visual Studio (code mode) for writing code. I tsaves a ton of time.It is not cheating to get the work done faster as long as it is still good quality and not garbage (aka Frontpage). Anything else is asking to go bankrupt!

there is no single function that makesa login page. I suggest you read the php tutorials from w3schools.

nothing appears wrong. I found back int he day when I used Brinkster that it would sometimes take a while before the asystem recognized a new database I created. After a while it would just start to work.
